It is not very often that I can improve upon other people's writings. I cannot improve upon any of Eve Revere's writings. There are so many quotations, by others, I would like to share. In my extensive reading of Joseph Campbell's works regarding cultures of the world and the influence of the Goddess, and in my subsequent focus on Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism, here are two quotations I would like to initially share: "There is not one migrating being who has not been my mother or father … [Read more...]

I HATE You, Daddy!!!, Larry James
I HATE You, Daddy!!! When my daughter was about 10 years old she went berserk. Well, maybe not berserk, but it sure felt like it to me. She moved into a total stage of rebellion. It was so bad that I heard the words, "I hate you" more than I care to recall. When asked to do something she didn't want to do, she would have this sudden burst of anger. It was like a knife going into my heart. When this began to happen, my initial (angry) response was, "Don't talk to me … [Read more...]
Love after Love, Derek Walcott – WOMEN in RECOVERY(Self-Love)
Love after Love LYRICS The time will come when, with elation, you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror, and each will smile at the other's welcome and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you have ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the … [Read more...]

One woman had her accident when she was five. She had one leg. She said that sometimes she dreams that she has two legs. She is an activist and was at the United Nations in 1995 campaigning to ban landmines. There was another woman who had no legs. The woman are in Cambodia a country known for its many landmines. ADELE BUTLER – Women of Spirit: No Honor in Murder
THERE IS NO HONOR IN MURDER I never knew that there was such a thing as "honor killing" until I learned about it from Equality Now about seven years ago. The term itself is an oxymoron. How can there be honor in killing? How could the family's honor be worth someone's life? I read of a seventeen year old Turkish woman who was murdered by her fifteen year old brother after she left the women's shelter where she had been staying. She had gone into the shelter to escape violence at home. … [Read more...]
