Cervical Cancer – Life After Treatment (in U.K.)

Life after treatment How cervical cancer affects your daily life will depend very much on what stage your disease is at, and what treatment you're having. Many women with cervical cancer have a radical hysterectomy. This is a major operation, and it takes around six to 12 weeks to recover from it. During this time you need to avoid lifting (e.g. children, heavy shopping bags) and heavy housework. You won’t be able to drive for anything from three to eight weeks after the operation. … [Read more...]

PEPFAR Blueprint: Creating an AIDS-free Generation

ON THE ROAD TO AN AIDS-FREE GENERATION   2012 was an extraordinary year (PDF 707KB). As of September 30, 2012, PEPFAR directly supported lifesaving anti-retroviral treatment (ART) for nearly 5.1 million people — a nearly three-fold increase since 2008. PEPFAR also supported drugs to prevent mother-to-child transmission for nearly 750,000 HIV-positive women in 2012 alone, allowing approximately 230,000 infants to be born HIV-free, and HIV testing and counseling for more than 46.5 … [Read more...]

Childcare, How to Not Spoil Your Child

When your child is an infant, you may be warned that you can “spoil” her by holding and cuddling her too much. While experts like attachment parenting guru Dr. Sears insist that there’s no such thing as a spoiled infant, it is true that children can develop a sense of entitlement or a lack of gratitude as they get older. For many parents, avoiding the label of “spoiled,” which is often applied to children who exhibit signs of being self-absorbed, having an attitude of entitlement, or are … [Read more...]

Cervical Cancer in Women, no simple proposition !

Preventing cancer, as we know, is no simple proposition. We have clues about what practices may help—say, exercising regularly, nixing cigarettes, and eating real, healthful food. But when we see even hyper-fit celebrities like Lance Armstrong fall victim, it’s easy to wonder whether there’s much we can do to prevent tumors in our own bodies. But when it comes to cervical cancer in women, the answer in many cases is a resounding “yes.” So much so, in fact, that the Centers for Disease … [Read more...]

Need a Fresh Start?‏, Larry James

Need a Fresh Start?   In todays world most people think that if there are problems in your relationship, just get a divorce and start over. The problem with that is you go into the new relationship with lots of baggage and usually pick up where you left off with someone new. Not a great strategy. Here are several options: 1. A fresh start with the one you are with... That's the one you see in the mirror each morning! 2. A fresh start with your current partner. 3. A fresh start … [Read more...]

Transliteration, Indian Language Text to Braille in India

INTRODUCTION The Braille encoding system is the primary means of representing textual documents in a readable format for the visually impaired. However, due to the scarcity of Braille printed reading materials, blind people in India face a daunting task while getting formal education and securing a respectable employment opportunity. (Hamara Bandhan) The situation worsens due to the unavailability of low-cost technological support. The National Census of India has estimated that out of … [Read more...]

Humanitarian Seeks Assistance: HIV-Negative AIDS?

Allied NATO Government is hiding millions of NON HIV AIDS cases (like mine) under the "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)", ICD-code. UK PROGRESSIVE published one of my letters about NON HIV AIDS. I have Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFS/CFIDS/ME) and HIV-NEGATIVE AIDS, idiopathic CD lymphocytopenia. With these two clinical diagnoses, I believe that makes me living proof that the AIDS-like CFS/ME is transmissible, something that the medical establishment seems unable to admit or … [Read more...]

National Alzheimer’s Plan, Canadian National demographics show

Right now, over 500,000 Canadians have Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. That number is expected to double by 2038. We are asking the Canadian government to create a plan to respond to the dementia crisis. Within two decades, it's estimated that more than 1 million Canadians will be living with dementia, yet Canada still has no national, strategic plans to make sure every one of these people -- and their families -- get the treatment and support they need. Tell Prime Minister … [Read more...]
