UNRWA, Syria midwife delivers baby in harsh conditions

Damascus The vibrant cry of a baby burst out from a small room in the Khan Eshieh refugee camp in southern Damascus. Forced to find refuge in a shelter housing another 15 people, Mayada Yahya gave birth in a small room with no privacy. UN condemns ethnic violence in Kenya – RADIO

Ethnic violence which has claimed over 400 lives and displaced thousands of people in Kenya has been condemned by the United Nations. The latest attack is reported to have occurred at dawn on Thursday on a village in the Tana River Delta in which at least 10 people, including five children, were killed. Many people were injured in what has been described as a revenge attack in south-eastern Kenya.
