Celebrate Being Alive – WOMEN in RECOVERY

Give It a Try Oh yeah, science has defined and described life — no disputing that. It’s that time that occurs between birth and death that we fill up with breathing, eating, sometimes sleeping, preserving the species, and whatever thoughtful and mindless else we might devise. To get beyond the state of being to having meaning is an art and a craft. The trick is finding the space between the literal and the figurative. If you want to give it a try . . . How to Be Alive In some … [Read more...]

Bahai: The Day of the Covenant – Celebrate November 26

The Day of the Covenant   Celebrating  November 26   'Abdu'l-Bahá was born on May 23, 1844, the very day that the Báb declared His mission to Mullá Husayn. Only in Action do We Manifest our Nature – Women in Recovery

THE PROBLEM OF SELF At one pole of my being I am one with sticks and stones. There I have to acknowledge the rule of Universal Law. That is where the foundation of my existence lies, deep down below. Its strength lies in its being held firm in the clasp of comprehensive world, and in the fullness of its community with all things. But at the other pole of my being I am separate from all. There, I have broken through the cordon of equality and stand alone as an individual. I am absolutely … [Read more...]

Numerology: The Birth Month Can Determine Your Character, Early Years

The month in which we were born in also has a great influence on our character; in many older forms of numerology this was used to analyze a person's early years. Earth Mother Crying, Terra

Earth Mother Crying   When I did this painting, I coated the masonite with gesso. Where ever I poured the gesso, it raised the masonite to make this wild configuration under the painting. It wasn't suppose to do that. I debated as to get a new piece of masonite and try again. I thought this strange. But since this was the piece designated for the painting, I thought I should continue with it. I thought surely it has some significant meaning and I would eventually become … [Read more...]
