Labor exploitation is the main cause of human trafficking, according to a new report by the International Organization for Migration, (IOM). The report which looked into human trafficking trends showed that half of the human trafficking cases brought before the IOM for assistance in 2011 involved victims of labor exploitation. Growth of the world economy has weakened considerably during 2012 and is expected to remain subdued in the coming two years, according to the United Nations in its latest issue of the World Economic Situation and Prospects 2013 (WESP), published today.
