DeAnna L’am
DeAnna was born in Romania, and immigrated to Israel with her family at the age of 3. Finding herself surrounded by people who didn’t speak her language, whilst she couldn’t understand theirs, made this the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of effective communication.
As an adult, DeAnna became passionate about helping people build bridges across all perceived differences: between women and men, youths and adults, differing cultures, religions, and nationalities.
DeAnna gained her B.A. in Theatre and Philosophy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel,and pursued further education in Communication, Social Psychology and Conflict Resolution.
She immersed herself in the ‘reconciliation efforts’
in the Middle East.
DeAnna worked as facilitator and program developer at:
Neveh Shalom/ What Al Salaam, SCHOOL FOR PEACE
Where she led 3-day reconciliation workshops
for Jewish and Palestinian Youths and Adults.
To pursue further education, DeAnna moved to London, U.K., where she trained in Humanistic Psychotherapy, Group Facilitation and the Celtic Earth-Based Spiritual Traditions. She worked as group facilitator in London, where she helped build bridges across cultural and racial divides within businesses and non-profit organizations.
In London, DeAnna met her husband, Julian Shaw, to whom she is happily married. Their daughter Ellah was born in 2000. DeAnna and Julian moved to California in 1992, where DeAnna deepened her training in Women’s Spirituality, and was initiated as priestess of the Celtic Tradition.
She continued to train in Communication Skills
and graduated as Leader of the P.A.I.R.S. program.
(Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills).
DeAnna held a private practice for many years, in which she offered Relationship Coaching and Emotional Bridge Building to couples, teams, organizations and communities.

DeAnna empowers Women to reclaim their monthly cycles as source of Inner Guidance and Spiritual Renewal, inspires Women to become Empowering Role Models for today’s girls, and trains Women to hold RED TENTS in their communities.

In 1993 DeAnna began a Personal Journey toward embracing her monthly cycle, which led her to “reverse the curse!”
She learned how to access her intuition as a reliable inner guide, and grown empowered, and in-charge of her life, inbigger ways than she ever experienced before! Having already been a trained coach and facilitator at the time, DeAnna called her first ‘Menstrual Empowerment Women’s Circle’ in San Diego, in 1994.
The response was overwhelming,
and the Journey embarked upon — profound.
In 1995 DeAnna coined the term ‘INNER MAIDEN’, to define the coming-of-age girl that still lives inside every woman.
Most Women’s ‘Inner Maiden’ was not welcomed into Womanhood When she came of age.
Consequently, DeAnna found, Women who may have become empowered in many areas in their lives,are still missing a piece in their inner jigsaw puzzle…They still suffer unnecessarily from PMS; view their periods as a monthly “nuisance,” “bother,” or “the curse…”
DeAnna realized the profound need for
HEALING THE GIRL WITHIN EACH OF US,
INTEGRATING HER INTO OUR WOMANHOOD.
Over the years, DeAnna developed a series of tools,
which act as HEALING BALM FOR the INNER MAIDEN…
This work proved to be the necessary stepping-stone for mothers’ capacity to welcome their daughters into womanhood with ease and confidence.

Making Coming-Of-Age Easier, And Womanhood Richer!
Ever since, DeAnna has been empowering women and girls all over the U.S. and around the world. DeAnna helps women at any age retrieve the missing pieces that make their womanhood whole. Their newly reclaimed ‘Inner Maiden’ fires up women’s femininity and inspires their womanhood from within!

Simultaneously, DeAnna assists mothers and daughters deeply bond through the Coming-Of-Age experience and lay a foundation for lifelong friendship. In 1999 DeAnna closed a circle by traveling to Israel, her country of origin, in order to bring the gifts of her work to the women of the Middle East. She was moved to tears when Jewish and Palestinian women bonded beyond political, religious, and cultural differences by recognizing their connection as cycling women.
DeAnna honed her workover years of interaction with women and girls around the world. She now trains women to teach her Red Moon curriculum and hold Red Tents in their communities.
