The UN Human Rights Council in Geneva has elected the first Woman President. The UN Human Rights Council in Geneva has elected the first woman ever to serve as its President. Laura Dupuy Lasserre, from Uruguay replaces the outgoing president, Thailand’s Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
