WOMAN of ACTION™
BarBara ‘BB’ Whorley Crawford
‘BB’ has been trained in trauma resolution since 2007.
Her clients have included victims of violent crimes (including rape), parents of murdered children, CEOs suffering from the chronic chaos of corporate America, and military personnel from Vietnam to current OEF/OIF.
Since 2009, she has worked with the military community ‘pro bono‘ in person, over the phone, and via Skype. Her focus now is veterans, troops, and families suffering from symptoms of anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm.
Emotional Self Sufficiency is now on Fort Hood available to work with Troopers and their families. We will begin workshops and trainings soon. BarBara is now living in Texas and will facilitate the training and workshops.
I have given 611 hours of volunteer coaching on post for our Troops and families. I cannot think of anything else I would like better to do with my time. I feel honored to work each day with our Troops!
We work with our military, veterans and their families. Everyone matters. ♥

NOMINATED BY: Albert Staler
I am a Marine Corps combat veteran damaged with PTSD after two years of combat in Vietnam.
I am also a member of the American Combat Veterans of War (ACVOW), an organization that has helped many combat veterans in the San Diego V.A. hospital, as well as many Marines at Camp Pendleton.
When I had the good fortune to meet Barbara Whorley [Crawford], I found her to be a warm, sincere, perceptive person with what seemed to be an infinite amount of empathy for my fellow veterans and myself.
Many times I witnessed her gently breaking through the resistant, hard-shell of a man who was suffering deeply, helping him release the anxiety and fear that were literally crippling him and making it impossible for him to deal with day-to-day life.
With Barbara’s help, I was also able to relax and be more present with my wife and family. My nightmares and anxiety lifted.
Barbara would be a most welcoming asset to any returning combat service veterans program. Her warm personality combined with her therapeutic techniques have brought me and others peace of mind and helpful relief.
