Never Give up on Your Dreams…
WOMAN of ACTION
Joanna Mosca
Joanna Mosca’s exciting emergence onto the pop and adult contemporary scene this year,
makes an inspiring statement on the ‘Power of Dreams’.
While great musical talents can cast their true passion aside for a time,
outrunning their Destiny is quite another matter.
Like everything else, Joanna embraced her detours wholeheartedly and with no regrets. She fell in love, became a wife, a devoted mom and
after earning her Master’s in hospital administration, became very successful in that field.
As we know, there is something magical about the rekindling of a dream deferred, and it’s hard to imagine her country, light jazz, R&B and pop influenced originals having the emotional impact they do without the wisdom she gained from the trials that have shaped her over the past few years.
“It’s about lighting the pathway when it’s too dark to see,” Joanna says,
“and choosing to climb the mountain no matter how steep it is……. I wouldn’t trade all the things I’ve been through for anything, because all the songs I write draw on these life experiences that have shaped me.”
One of the most important stepping stones on the way to emerging as a musical performer was studying to be an actress. While living in Connecticut, she commuted regularly to Manhattan,
where she studied with Anthony Hopkins,

and famed acting teacher Uta Hagen at the prestigious HB Studios.
In the midst of these pursuits,
the sudden death of her father reawakened her passion for singing.
“He was a singer who never pursued his craft professionally, but because of his love for singing would sing with friends as street corner groups in Hartford,” Joanna says of her Father.
“All of these memories came flooding back of him singing to me as a child. I even wrote a song about this, which may be on the album, called ‘He Sang To Me.’ “

“I started telling people about my passion for singing and began getting opportunities to sing in front of people.

With the recommendations and encouragement of many people, I quit my job to fine tune my voice in Manhattan.”
Looking back, she could scarcely have realized that one day she would have the chance to fly to Nashville to work on her songs with writers including Troy Verges
and Jeremy Spillman who have penned hits for artists like Martina McBride and Rascal Flatts.
Her latest Top Ten song which is also the title of her upcoming debut album is “Keep On Going,” an autobiographical track that could be a mantra for her life—as well as one that inspires people to think beyond their circumstances during these hard economic times.
Mosca was honored by Music Connection Magazine as one of the Hot 100 Unsigned Artists of 2009, collaborated on two songs with Jeremy Spillman, who has penned tracks for country superstars Trace Adkins, Trisha Yearwood and Josh Turner, and earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing “I Will Never Let You Go” with Gustavo Santaolalla for the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack.

Keep On Going also includes “Learn To Swim,” a track written by
Troy Verges (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood).
Bo-Ty Productions and Joanna Mosca use sE Gemini – February, 6th 2008
Bo-Ty Productions is a songwriting/production team consisting of Robert Donzella and Tyrone Corbett. They have worked with artists from American Idol, groups signed to Wyclef Jean and artists with J Records. Their catalog of music has attracted the attention of legendary songwriter Carole Bayer Sager and Grammy producer David Foster.
Carole commented that their songs ¡°showed massive talent¡±.
In addition to the production company, Tyrone has toured as a background singer with R&B/jazz singer Will Downing, Saxophonist extraordinaire Gerald Albright, Guitarist Norman Brown and more. He also provided background vocals for Folk legend Pete Seeger’s project that received a Grammy for ¡°Best Traditional Folk Album¡±.
Bo-Ty Productions is currently working on a variety of projects and shopping material to major label artists. They have an extremely eclectic body of work ranging from pop/rock, to R&B, to Country.
“The sE Gemini was strongly suggested to me by a couple of colleagues in a newsgroup I frequent so I decided to take a closer look. Upon using the Gemini , I was immediately impressed by its sound and character. In addition to the tonal quality, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to use the mic in a number of different capacities with the same pleasing results.” – Tyrone Corbett
One of Bo-Ty Productions current clients is Joanna Mosca (pictured above).
Tyrone says, “I used the sE Gemini recording the vocals of artist Joanna Mosca. She has received great reviews and has achieved significant air play in secondary Clear Channel markets with her single ¡°Not Enough¡± which we co-wrote, produced and recorded. Our latest effort with Joanna is a Rolling Stones style cover of the R&B song ¡°I’ll Be Around¡± by the Spinners. This song was released and received the honors of ¡°#1 most added¡± it’s first week of release on FMQB.com. We cut all of Joanna’s leads with the Gemini, as well as the acoustic guitar tracks for her project“
Joanna says, ” While I’m not a technical person regarding music equipment, I always know what sounds good, and I’m very pleased with the results Ty and Bob get using the Gemini during our recording sessions.
Ty and Bob are the co-writers and producers of my project, and they,
along with the Gemini…
“Capture the essence of who I am.”
