I love sitting outside. It’s my time to reflect on things I’ve done, things I’m planning to do and new thoughts period! It’s only when I do that, fresh ideas happen.
But, tonight was different.
I was talking to a good friend on the phone and looked down – the sight was amazing! There was a very tiny ant pulling another ant, approximately 5 times his size!
That got me to thinking about the strength of an ant as well as his persistence to press through regardless of how ‘things ‘may appear.’ He didn’t go get his friends or ask for help …he did it himself.
Being the research person that I am, I did a search on Google regarding the strength of an ant. Boy was that a waste of time! I saw a lot of debate on whether or not it’s true that an ant can carry 5 times it’s weight and because of the size of the ant, little oxygen is required and if they were the size of a human they wouldn’t live, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The fact is this, they are not the size of a human, they are created for their own purpose and size. The realization is that they CAN and WILL carry 5 times their body weight because they are persistent creatures with a goal in mind and no matter what they CHOOSE to pursue, REGARDLESS of what we or anyone else thinks about it.
Another fact. You were created for your own size, shape and purpose — for a reason. I would even go so far as to say, there are more ants who succeed opposed to humans when it comes to persistence.
Okay, what’s the moral of this story? (I hear you, LOL!)…
The Difference Between an Ant and a Human?
Per wiki-answers:
an ant carries a grain of food, generation after generation after generation…. a human carried food, made a cart, made a truck, make an airplane. the difference is mental ability and progress… the desire to improve lifestyle and to never compromise
I beg to differ.
You see the ant has remained consistent, generation after generation. No new information on what already works, no new theories on testing something that may waste time, money and effort.
They keep the main thing, the main thing. It works, JUST DO IT!
Commitment, Persistence, Determination along with the mindset to NEVER give up, regardless of circumstances, stumbles or roadblocks — produces results and when planned properly… positive results.
It’s not how much you know but, what you do with what you already know (i.e., books, tapes, ebooks, memberships, teleseminars, etc.) that will ever produce the results you’re desiring to achieve.
Stop procrastinating by inundating yourself with the next best gadget, ebook, software, membership program, teleseminar and/or event. It’s information overload at it’s best and guess what? You’re the bait.
I encourage you to get focused and stop fumbling ~ you’ll be surprised to know, you probably don’t need that next new shiny object ~ use what you already have.
What do you think?
Here’s to a more persistent YOU!

P.S. I’ve said enough
