ABOUT THE HOSTS

Sarah Brown is married to former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. During her husband’s time in office, Mrs. Brown hosted numerous world leaders, dignitaries and royalty at No 10 Downing Street, and at events such as last year’s G8 Summit. She also made it her mission to engage the British public in the political process and to highlight worthy causes by harnessing the power of New Media such as Twitter, attracting over a million avid followers and making her one of the most popular Britons on the micro-blogging site. Sarah is the Global Patron of the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood. With Sarah’s help the WRA has managed to garner numerous high profile supporters including Queen Rania of Jordan, Carla Bruni, Wendi Murdoch and JK Rowling.

Donna Karan is a one-woman powerhouse who has made New York uptown dressing her signature. Her aim when she started out in 1985 was to dress women in comfort, to liberate them from the confines of Eighties power suits – she then created DKNY for a younger customer with her daughter Gaby in mind. Today, Karan’s company is a lifestyle brand producing menswear, jeans, accessories, hosiery, fragrance and cosmetics. Karan is the founder of the Urban Zen Foundation, an organization that promotes spiritual wellbeing, the empowerment of children and the preservation of cultures.

Arianna Huffington is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, a nationally syndicated columnist, and author of eleven books. She is also co-host of “Left, Right & Center,” public radio’s popular political roundtable program. In 2006, she was named to the Time 100, Time Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people. She serves on several boards that promote community solutions to social problems, including A Place Called Home, which works with at-risk children in South Central Los Angeles. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Archer School for Girls.
