National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW) is a movement that began in 1989.

The goal of NIAW is to raise awareness about the disease of infertility and encourage the public to understand their reproductive health. This year RESOLVE is urging the infertility community to spread the message “You are not alone.”

Infertility impacts 1 in 8 couples of reproductive age and can be a very isolating disease to face. Just hearing “You are not alone” can help in so many ways. To participate in this year’s program, CLICK HERE.

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, established in 1974, is a non-profit organization with the only established, nationwide network mandated to promote reproductive health and to ensure equal access to all family building options for men and women experiencing infertility or other reproductive disorders. RESOLVE founded the National Infertility Awareness Week in 1989.

RESOLVE improves the lives of women and men living with infertility.

One in eight U.S. couples of childbearing age is diagnosed with infertility. RESOLVE addresses this public health issue by providing community to these women and men, connecting them with others who can help, empowering them to find resolution and giving voice to their demands for access to all family building options.

RESOLVE is a member of the National Coalition for Oversight of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (NCOART), the National Health Council and is a founding member of the International Federation of Infertility Patient Associations (IFIPA).

RESOLVE will not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other classification protected by applicable state or federal law.

Consider showcasing this theme and important message in your National Infertility Awareness Week efforts.

Join the orange movement on Wednesday, April 27th and rock your ORANGE gear to show you support of National Infertility Awareness Week®. #WearOrange Campaign was created by RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association to help raise awareness about the importance of empowering you in your journey and changing the conversation around infertility. Whether it’s you, or someone you know who struggles to build a family, #WearOrange!

Using Hashtag #WearOrange!, we will make some noise and show the world, you are not alone!

Why Orange?

wear orange infertility week 2022The color orange promotes a sense of wellness, emotional energy to be shared: compassion, passion, and warmth. Helps to recover from disappointments, a wounded heart, or a blow to one’s pride. Studies show that orange can create a heightened sense of activity, increased socialization, boost in aspiration, contentment, assurance, confidence and understanding.

RESOLVE uses orange to raise awareness, increase activity around an important movement, and remind our community every day that RESOLVE is there for them during the disappointments while educating and promoting physical and emotional wellness.

If getting pregnant has been a challenge for you and your partner, you’re not alone. Ten to 15 percent of couples in the United States are infertile.

infertility-infographic1-600x248Infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for at least a year for most people and six months in certain circumstances.

Infertility may be due to a single cause in either you or your partner, or a combination of factors that may prevent a pregnancy from occurring or continuing. Fortunately, there are many safe and effective therapies for overcoming infertility. These treatments significantly improve the chances of becoming pregnant.

Here are some examples:

  • You are not alone. 1 in 8 is someone you know.
  • Don’t let infertility leave you feeling isolated. You are not alone here to help.
  • You are not alone on your infertility journey.
  • ORDER Your T-Shirt here and ROCK YOUR ORANGE.

In this section we’ve provided ways for you to get involved with the biggest infertility awareness campaign of the year. This campaign helps the infertility community share our voice and provide important information to the public.

The goal is to make sure the public is aware:

Understand that infertility is a disease that affects 1 in 8 couples of reproductive age; acknowledges that there are many ways to build a family; understands that the disease of infertility impacts the physical, emotional, and financial health of those that are facing it; and those trying to conceive know when to seek the advice of a specialist.
