When women are empowered economically, they invest in their families and communities, spurring economic growth and creating more stable societies. Growing evidence reveals that women’s low participation in the formal labor markets of developing countries impedes economic growth and poverty reduction.
The Clinton Global Initiative stated years ago “When women work, they invest 90 percent of their income back into their families, compared with 35 percent for men. [This also assists maintaining unity in the family unit.]
By focusing on girls and women, innovative businesses and organizations can spur economic progress, expand markets, and improve health and education outcomes for everyone.:
Empowering more women to work, results in better growth of third-world economies. This is because women’s economic empowerment, increases economic diversification, boosts productivity and income equality, resulting in other positive development outcomes.

3. Invest in Women’s Entrepreneurial Ideas, Emotionally and Financially.
4. Taking Action against Unpaid Labor in the Workforce; abolishing modern slavery and universal income to stay at home mothers.
5. Mentoring Women Professionally and Personally.Women’s empowerment has five components: women’s sense of self-worth; their right to have and to determine choices; their right to have access to opportunities and resources; their right to have power to control their own lives, both within and outside the home; and their ability to influence the direction of social action.
Breaking the Chain: Why is Girl Empowerment Important?
Empowered girls are key to breaking the cycle of poverty for families around the world. Young empowered, educated girls have healthier, better educated children and earn higher wages – helping to break the cycle of poverty globally.
How Does Empowering Women and Girls Save Our Planet?
Earthday.org states: Empowering women and girls in developing countries ranked second among 76 solutions for curbing global warming to 2 degrees Celsius, according to a new report by the climate research organization Project Drawdown. Drawdown estimates that girls’ education and family planning would reduce carbon by 85 gigatons by 2050.
With access to education, family planning and birth control, women have the ability to choose how many children to have and when they have them. The report shows that with this access, women have less children and have them later in life.
In both rural and urban areas, slower population growth relieves stress on ecosystems, allowing resources to recover from overuse without compromising local food access.
With these additional resources, women also earn more money, achieve career goals and face fewer health issues. Rural women see higher crop yields, providing better nutrition and financial stability for their families.
The list of benefits goes on and on and on and on.
