Do you ever feel like there are not enough hours in a day? Most of us feel that way from time to time. Generally speaking, if we minimize the time that we waste daily, we find we have more time for the more important things in life. There are proven techniques that allow us to organize our time, to get things done more effectively, leaving us more time for our families and friends.

Make A List

The first thing you can do is make lists. Make a ton of them, go crazy, and make a list for everything. Download apps that can help you prioritize all your list. You can have a list for everything. You can even have one of those paper list with a magnet on your refrigerator. When you are cleaning or things pop into your head that you will need, write it down. You can also get the spouse and kids involved if they notice something is empty such as milk or coffee they can add them to the list.

Grocery store lists are a must have, you can save so much time and money going directly to what you need instead of aimlessly walking down the same isles. Grocery list can also be made on your smartphone And many retailers will allow you to use downloaded coupons they can scan directly from your phone.

Look for online tools

There are great apps and websites that can help you manage your time at home or at work. There are hundreds of “to do” list apps that prioritize and even check things off when finished. You can line threw items and keep them around so that you can see how much you have accomplished.

Track Your Time

Track your time. People are often amazed at how much time they lose when they can view it on paper. Try tracking your time and activities for a week. This will give you a good idea where you are wasting time. You may find you are spending hours a month going to the bank, when deposits and other banking business are easily done from your phone or computer. A great program to allow you to track your personal and business hours, projects and much more is Clockspot. We live in the age of technology. Take advantage of the tools that are available online.

Organization is your friend

Being organized in your personal life frees you and utilizes your time wisely. Straighten or clean your living and work space as you go. When you come home put everything where it goes instead of unloading it by the door. Pick up things before you go to bed or clean the last few dishes as they become dirty. Never waste a trip. If you live in a two-story house, take something that belongs on each floor, every time you go up or down the steps. A few minutes of straightening and light cleaning will free up hours during the weekend that was previously designated for cleaning.

Challenge yourself. Resist the urge to ignore a project. You will spend more time trying to avoid a project than you spend completing it. Stick with your schedule and understand, by doing so you will have more time to do the things you enjoy, like family outings. You may also feel comfort in knowing that if put off for too long it just becomes a bigger job. Do it now, and enjoy the satisfaction of completion and free time you will have later.

Multitasking

Multitasking is another way maximize time. Multitasking is a fact of life for the working woman, It is the art of doing more than one thing at a time. In order to effectively multitask you will:
