R.E.S.T. Centre (Restoration and Empowerment for Social Transition). We are engaged in the fight to end youth homelessness. Thanking God for the first milestone.
Restoration and Empowerment for Social Transition or (R.E.S.T.) Center is a not for profit organization incorporated on June 22, 2015. R.E.S.T. is primarily engaged in interventions aimed at promoting transition to housing programs that provide diverse, multi-faceted supports for youth leaving the care system in its preventive efforts to end homelessness. Support programs include affordable housing, mentorship, counseling, education, life skills and employment training opportunities and the operation of social enterprise ventures.
We are responding to the call of James 2:16
If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?You too can become a part of helping in this fight, we would love to hear from you.
We understand that finding stable, affordable housing and independent living can be a major obstacle for youth. Therefore, we provide affordable and accessible housing for youth leaving the care system. R.E.S.T. provides subsidized residential units at 40% of the cost, for youths involved in the program. This will allow for access to safe and affordable housing for homeless youth whose income may not be reliable.

Rose Cora Perry
Rose Cora Perry – Vocals, Guitar, Songwriter; Jeremy Sieberer – Bass, Backing Vocals, Tyler Randall – Drums Rose Cora Perry has three visions she hopes to achieve as an artist: 1) to inspire
2) to provoke thought
3) to relate
Truth. Love. Honour.
Rose Cora Perry is an official spokeswoman for youth mental health issues on behalf of MindYourMind.ca, as well as a proud advocate of D.I.Y. ethics, straightedge culture, environmentalism, feminism AND veganism. If Only the World Believed in Itself
Performer since age four. Writer since age seven. CEO of Record Label & Publicity Firm at 15.
Rose Cora Perry is the former front woman of major label signed act Anti-Hero and has performed at some of the world’s most renowned music festivals including: Canadian Music Week, NorthbyNortheast, Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Regatta, Warped Tour, and MEANYFest NYC.
Bringing audiences of over 500,000 to tears with her emotional sound and sincere performances, Perry has been crowned a well-respected industry pro within Canada’s music landscape. In line with her efforts, in 2011, she was invited to attend the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles as a honourary special guest artist.
She’s graced the covers of magazines, achieved “Top 100” radio singles, conducted numerous guest lectures, served as a Voting Committee Member for the Jack Richardson Music Awards and was elected to represent the “voice of the independent musician” in a three-month expose for Canadian Musician.
While most recognized for her contributions to the Great White North’s indie rock scene, as a classically trained performer with over 20 years on stage, Perry is skilled at singing in any genre and compelling audiences of all ages – a fact that was proved when she landed a starring role as Vivienne Kensington (Elle Wood’s adversary) in Simply Theatre’s production of Legally Blonde and was credited as playing the character with “the right amount of feline fastidiousness and overweening self-possession.”
In 2010, Perry launched her critically acclaimed debut solo album, “Off Of the Pages” and its associated non-for-profit foundation, MusicSaves, which aims to impart onto troubled youth the healing capacity of music.
Beyond her music-making, Perry works as a Photography Model, Graphic/Web Designer, Social Media Manager/Publicist and is the brainchild of four successful column series. In 2012, she finally got to fulfilling a longstanding shelved dream of hers: to make the transition from Print Journalism to Broadcast.
Perry hosted two popular programs on RogersTV: London’s Driven, a community-produced bimonthly pilot series which features young entrepreneurs striving to make a difference in the Forest City and Mosaic, a regularly scheduled “live-to-taped” weekly program which profiles members of London’s multi-cultural community and the organizations that serve them.
Rose continues to regularly lend her talents toward various non-for-profit and community events acting as an Emcee, including VegFest London, London Defeat Depression and London’s Run for Ovarian Cancer.
2016 marks the triumphant return of Perry’s musical efforts with the highly anticipated worldwide release of her sophomore solo album, “Onto the Floor” – a narrative set to melody. In conjunction with the album’s release, Perry has formed powerhouse trio, The Truth Untold, featuring the exceptional local talents of Jeremy Sieberer on Backing Vocals/Bass (Partners in Health) and Tyler Randall on Drums (Blind Mag/Swerve).

“The important thing is to discover, and after discovering, to keep going. It is detrimental to stay with what you have discovered, for then your mind is closed, finished. But if you die to what you have discovered the moment you have discovered it, then you can flow like a stream, like a river that has an abundance of water.”

Dagma Koyi is a dynamic speaker, impactful teacher, counselor, and the founder and CEO of R.E.S.T. Centre (Restoration and Empowerment for Social Transition).
R.E.S.T. Centre emerged out of a desire for a holistic approach to youth development and enrichment initiatives for street-involved youth. R.E.S.T’s mission is to strategically invest in homeless youth in order to prepare them to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through structured interventions targeting their vulnerabilities; and to transition them on a path towards independence, self-sufficiency and civic engagement.
As a humanitarian, Dagma is imbibed with a passion to alleviate the living condition of under-served youth. Her years as a counsellor to homeless youth in the city of Toronto, gave her penetrating insight into some of the challenges of a street-involved life.
Her primary objective is to advocate for increased funding and resources that further youth’s social, emotional, cognitive, financial and physical development so that greater numbers of homeless youth are gainfully employed and have access to adequate housing.
Dagma’s passion for social justice and poverty alleviation has also lead her to advocate for school-aged children in her home country of St. Lucia; where, through fund-raising support, she transports barrels of food and other items to specific communities to ensure that every child has a breakfast meal.
In today’s society life often happens in the fast lane. We race through our days from one responsibility to the next. We drop our children off at school, race to work, then to the grocery store, and then home to pick up the children for gymnastics or soccer. In our new or old economy vehicles or 4 wheel drives we stare out at the highway or the country road and step on the gas. Slowing down feels like an insult.
There’s the mortgage to pay, the lawn to mow, the emails to write, the meals to cook, the car to service and maybe a bonus at the end of the year. As we speed though and squeeze in a few hours running in the hills or working out at the gym, our vision becomes limited. We only see what we want. We only see what we are doing. We walk by the ones desperately in need of our help, barely recognizing their beauty or fear, too scared to smile at them or even to hold out a hand. If they aren’t rushing like us, if they aren’t driving cars with fancy hubcaps or wearing golf clothes, or carrying the same designer bags, they get ostracized. If they are homeless they are ignored. If they are children, they are forgotten. If they are homeless children they are not only ignored and forgotten, they are shoved under highway bridges and marginalized.
It is time to awaken the golden rule to love our neighbour. Love means we all are equal. Love means we find that parity from the inside and allow our true vision to bring that inner parity to manifest as peace in this real and quickly spinning world.
