10 December, is Human Rights Day and marks the end of the #16Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign.
From oranging iconic buildings to launching a hotline for survivors, engaging the media and mobilizing young people through performance arts and sports, actions are still pouring in from all corners of the world. Check them out and add your actions here.
This year’s Human Rights Day slogan is “Human Rights 365“, encompassing the idea that every day is Human Rights Day, and each one of us, everywhere, at all times, is entitled to the full range of human rights.
Raise your voice for #rights365 on Vine: in six seconds tell the world why Human Rights matter 365.
To make #rights365 a reality, every day must be a day of action to end violence against women and girls, the most pervasive human rights violation.
One in three women and girls worldwide experience violence in their lifetime. To achieve human rights, peace and sustainable development, it is fundamental that women and girls live free of violence and discrimination. Check out UN Women’s editorial compilation on the issue HERE.
As we close this epic #Orangeurhood in #16Days campaign, we are more inspired than ever before to continue the journey towards a future free of violence against women and girls. Look out for the next #OrangeDay action theme!
Thank you for joining us.
