Shanette Seipt started as a single mom with a dream and has morphed into a business-savvy entrepreneur with an ever-expanding profile that never ceases to amaze her followers. I left Austria where I grew up and came to Canada on my own, learning to fend for myself. Some years later I got married, had a daughter, then chose to leave my husband to be a single mom. That’s when I started my beauty business from scratch.

Whatever I accomplished was never enough in my own mind. I always wanted to inspire and help others to make a change while I strived to be a “super woman”.

L’Exquisite Day Spa was founded in 1984 by a hard-working, goal-driven, single mom with a dream.

Through struggles and set-backs, recessions and everyday challenges, Shanette Seipt relied on her strength and passion to guide her to the successful business woman she is today.

The name L’Exquisite started out by renting space from various Beauty Salons in the heart of downtown Oakville.

For the first five years, only offering nail services, she began building a loyal customer base, many of which you can still find relaxing in the Spa today.
While performing works of art on people’s hands by day, Shanette began expanding her expertise by attending courses at night.

After obtaining various certificates and diplomas at Sheridan College and other private schools, Shanette’s profile grew to include esthetics, skin care and make-up artistry.

Soon the clients who were having their nails done were also getting their waxing, pedicures, and facials done too.

L’Exquisite Esthetics & Nails had its Grand Opening as a free-standing spa on Valentine’s Day, 1997, in Oakville, near the famous Glen Abbey Golf Course.

In 2005, Shanette expanded her spa once again, doubling her space and relocating to the main floor in her existing plaza.

The new L’Exquisite Day Spa for Women & Men opened its doors in November 2005.

On Valentine’s Day 2013 Shanette celebrated her 16th anniversary in her own space and 29th anniversary as the woman who built a successful Day Spa from the ground up.

L’Exquisite Day Spa is now known as a medi-spa and wellness centre, specializing in facial rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments.

With a published eBook titled “Beauty Tips 4 a New You”, and a world-class website which ships beauty products and skin care lines across the globe, Shanette has broken out of the traditional Spa-business-model into a globally-known name. FREE DOWNLOAD

Shanette was voted for and won the platinum award winning esthetician five years in a row and was nominated for Oakville’s Entrepreneur of the year in 2009.

Aside from the multiple businesses under her umbrella, including the renowned Xocai Healthy Chocolate line, Shanette’s pride shines the strongest for her family.

As pictures of her husband, daughter and grandson line the displays of the spa and pages on her website, Shanette proudly shares her favourite life moments with the world.

Today I want to share some inspirations with you.

As you may know, I was nominated for Oakville’s Entrepreneur of the year 2009. We had a beautiful reception and later on an Award night. I didn’t win the award, but one of my clients did. I was so happy for her. When I was on stage with the other wonderful people who were also nominated, the whole experience gave me an incredible insight and a new perspective.

My whole life I strived to be better, have more education, do more, help others.

When I was told in January that I was nominated for Oakville’s Entrepreneur of the year 2009 I was shocked, then I got so excited and the more I thought about it, I realized that other people see more in me than I do sometimes and I also realized once again that I don’t give myself any credit for the positive things I do because I am so driven to push for more. Can you relate to that? Most women and even some men are in that boat.

People often tell me that I am an inspiration to them because I share my stories, experiences and struggles about my life with them. I have been committed to help others feel good about themselves, because any positive change on the inside radiates to the outside and affects many people around us… even if we are not aware of it.

Do you know that a simple smile can make someone’s day? I am always amazed to see that glow when someone looks at me with a nice big smile on their face. It makes me so aware of the effect that I just want to pass it on to others.

Because we are all so busy doing our thing, dealing with our day to day lives and stress, we often don’t realize how much of an impact we are making in the lives of others around us.

Take a few moments to think about the people in your life and how you are effecting them. Be proud of yourself for your contribution.

Celebrate all the little successes every day and believe in yourself!

Keep in mind when you acknowledge and compliment others, you and them will feel good about themselves and soon everyone will start to soar like an eagle because of the positive energy! I have to say, now that I have been nominated, I feel even more responsibility to go out there and live up to it. It is motivating me to do more. Think of the teachers and trainers that motivate people or kids by praising and rewarding verses the people that scold.

I felt so blessed to have been acknowledged for my work, but I also realized that there are many inspiring people out there that don’t get that acknowledgement. Take time today to call three people and give them wings to fly by telling them how they have made an impact in your life.

I think it’s also important to have a relationship with a higher power, God, spirit, universe or whatever you want to call it. As we listen to that small voice inside or go with our gut feeling, that’s when we can really make a change in the world around us. To me, that connection has always been very important.
