This year’s theme for international women’s day celebrated annually on the 8th of March is “A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women”.
Gender Based Violence is an umbrella term for any harm perpetrated against a person’ will of which women are the most affected. Every day by day, more and more women and girls face these violation without a punishment to the offender. The promise to end gender based violence is a big fight but with a collective voice of women like a bundle of broom the promise will be a reality.
Interestingly, International Women’s Day (week) is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
This month of March let us celebrate a Women, a Girl Child.
Join your voice to others and let made a different.
Pray for someone this month, heal a soul with your word, speak peace to someone and to the world. Your prayer can transform the world as it had been done before by Mary, say a word of encouragement to a women either dead or alive.
Remember a woman or a girl today and Celebrate her this year for the change we dream to have in the world and to end gender based violence.
