Anoushka Shankar is a renowned musician and composer.

On Monday, February 4th there will be a ONE BILLION RISING kick-off Celebration in London: V-Day Board member Thandie Newton will be performing alongside Eve Ensler and Grammy nominated World Music artist Anoushka Shankar in “LONDON RISING” at Cafe De Paris, Leicester Square London 8 PM – a one night, charity fundraising THEATRICAL DANCE PARTY, featuring well known artists and musicians to Celebrate Women in what promises to be an empowering, festive, carnival night of dance!
V-Day, the global movement spearheaded by internationally acclaimed, award-winning playwright Eve Ensler (author of The Vagina Monologues) is inviting ONE BILLION women and those who love them to WALK OUT, DANCE and RISE UP, and DEMAND an End to Violence Against Women.
The evening will feature special guest star Eve Ensler, as well as actresses who will be performing two new monologues written specially for ONE BILLION RISING. Alongside them will be artists, singers, dancers and celebrated DJs in an evening of rousing dance music to Celebrate and honor women.
Dance is Freedom, Celebration, Revolution.
