In 2012, Family Day falls on Monday, February 20.

Most workers, public or private, are entitled to take statutory holidays off with regular pay. Some businesses remain open on holidays, such as medical clinics and some stores, restaurants, and tourist attractions.

 

4th Annual Beach BIA Family Day, presented by BMO, Monday 11-4 Petting zoo, DJ, Demonstrations, Mascots, Contests, Arts and Crafts, Family Fun Shows, Face Painting and so much more! between Lockwood and Neville Park.

Kids Festival: International Centre Family Day Weekend, February 19, 20, 21, 2011. 10-5 free admission, courtesy of “love our city“. Rides extra Kids-Fest is Canada’s Largest Indoor Inflatable Show, Bounce, laugh, play, run and scream in 50,000 sq. ft. of some of North America’s largest indoor inflatables, Enjoy one of our stage shows, have your face painted or for a little extra you can enjoy a pony ride! Shop in our vendor’s market place!

Riverdale Farm is free for everyone, and is open year-round from 9am to 5pm. The kitchen and farm shop are open from 10am to 3pm.

PawsWay Pet Discovery Centre at the Harbourfront includes the Purina Hall of Fame, dog shows, skating, bouncy tent, crafts, ice castle painting, live music and more . Family Day 11 am – 6 pm. Free admission.

Harbourfront Family Day on Toronto’s Waterfront- FREE A variety of venues, including Harbourfront Centre, Queen’s Quay Terminal and PawsWay will be hosting a full day of FREE events including dog sports demos, bouncy tents, arts and crafts, live music, magicians and Harbourfront Centre’s HarbourKIDS: Family Skating Party presented by RBC. Rumour has it, a few Olympians will even be onhand for the festivities, too.

Children’s Play to Celebrate Date: February 20, 2011, Time: 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM. Free. We are extremely glad to share the news that the original producer and creator behind Mr. DressUp has launched a children’s theatre company called Suitcase Theatre. All are invited to attend a free public performance of The Friend Ship, a wonderful musical suited for 3-12 year age range. Family Day at TIFF. Celebrate Family Day with two days of FREE programming brought to you by Bell. A great way to explore all that TIFF Bell Lightbox has to offer, you’ll enjoy screenings, activities, exhibitions, concerts and events — all FREE! See Tim Burton Films and much more! February 20 & 21.

Free animation fun at NFB. Families are invited to drop by and choose from a wide selection of hands-on free animation activities. Register for an animation workshop by calling 416-973-3012, or come by any time during the day to see films on the big screen, complete a digital scavenger hunt or try your hand at pixillation. All ages welcome! February 21.
