Mosca Is In The Midst Of A 6-State Radio Tour Which Includes Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.Aug 27, 2010 – “Keep On Going,” Joanna Mosca’s latest CD release is living up to its name. Joanna’s first single, “Keep On Going,” is the title track from the album and made waves hitting the top 10 adult contemporary charts. Fresh from the success of “Keep On Going,” Mosca released “Like I’m Leaving.” This heartfelt ballad is backed by a fresh country-pop style and stellar production. The guitar licks solidly complement the vocals. Mosca expresses anguish and sorrow through her voice as she places her heart on her sleeve.
The track speaks to the value of keeping love alive.
Earlier in the month, Joanna filled her schedule with interviews and live performances at 13 radio stations in Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky over a five day period. While touring the South and Midwest, Mosca performed live on radio and loved meeting people at local shops. During a visit to Breece’s Cafe in Centerville, TN., Joanna was surprised to meet Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate, Mike McWherter behind the counter washing dishes. Reflecting on the early August tour, Mosca said, “What an interesting and beautiful part of our country. I saw some very interesting sites during this tour and met some great DJs who keep the music going!”
Some of the highlights of the “Like I’m Leaving” tour were Jamestown, TN, headquarters for the world’s longest yard sale – called The l27 yard sale. http://www.127sale.com. The 3-day event took place on HWY 127 spanning from Covington, Kentucky to Gadsden, Alabama. Over 500 miles of “treasures” attracted people from as far as Australia! Jamestown is also the home of the country’s largest pumpkin.
While in Kingsport, TN., Mosca visited “The Sculpture Walk” located in the newly renovated downtown area. http://publicart.kingsporttn.gov/node/41. Kingsport is a great connection to the history of the South and is the home of the Wilderness Trail blazed by Daniel Boone in 1775. The trail starts in Kingsport, goes through Virginia and the Cumberland Gap and ends in Kentucky.
Florence, Alabama, a city rich in music history, was a memorable stop for Joanna. Mosca did a podcast at KIX 96 Country, a station owned by the legendary Sam Phillips who founded Sun Records, “discovered” Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and many others. Sam was the man who made blues and rock and roll accessible to the public. Mosca had the great pleasure of meeting Sam’s son, Jerry who now runs the radio station.
