Let's Move – Lady Obama in Flash Mob Dance

On Monday, the First Lady welcomed 300 kids to the South Lawn who had just run a mile from a local D.C. elementary school with TV host Kelly Ripa and ultramarathon runner Dean Karnazes. And on Tuesday, the First Lady dropped by a D.C. middle school to watch students do a Let’s Move! Flash workout created by Beyonce and the National Association of Broadcasters. 600 schools joined the flash mob at 1:42 pm on May 3rd around the country and even in Japan. Remember our Healthy Kids School Recipe Challenge as part of our Chefs Move to Schools program? Schools, chefs and kids submitted recipes based on a school lunch budget. The USDA is traveling the country testing the final 15 recipes to help choose the winner. Check out the recipes yourself and tell us what you think.
