Lets Move Anniversary

Partners including the professional soccer team, the Colorado Rapids, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Department of Education celebrate the one year anniversary of Let’s Move! in Commerce City, Colorado, on February 5th, 2011.

THIS WEEK

Can you believe it? On February 9th, the First Lady will mark the one year anniversary of Let’s Move! At first the issue of solving the epidemic of childhood obesity seemed somewhat daunting, but after seeing incredible accomplishments in our first year, we have hope. Every sector of society is stepping up to create a generation of healthy kids.

Throughout the week, Mrs. Obama will be on conference calls with groups who have helped build the campaign and will be giving interviews to the media, including morning shows. We’ve listed some of the information for these below in case you want to try to catch her—and of course, we’ll have a lot of new items on www.letsmove.gov; we’ll even be livestreaming an important speech Mrs. Obama is giving Wednesday about how this issue affects her as a parent.
