It’s the everyday miracles that make all the difference…the people and projects that work day in and day out to transform lives, one person at a time. Many of us look back at moments in our lives and think, “What would have happened to me if when I needed help the most, no one had been there to give it to me?” Without the people who arrive mysteriously and just on time to say, “Come on. I’ll show you another way,” many people who are happy now wouldn’t have made it past certain dark periods in their past. And once you’ve received that kind of miraculous kindness, you never forget it. No matter what it is that makes a person fall down, blessed are those who help them get back up. So it is that I feel great affection for Peggy Albrecht and the work that she and her colleagues do at FRIENDLY HO– USE LA, America’s oldest recovery home for women. FRIENDLY HO– USE LA works miracles daily — bringing to women who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol a message of hope and the path to a new life. They have helped thousands of women — and with our help, they will help thousands more. On Saturday, October 9, FRIENDLY HO– USE LA is honoring me as their Woman of the Year at their annual fundraising luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. I am pleased to be included in the company of past honorees such as Betty Ford, Wallis Annenberg, Barbara Sinatra, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Quincy Jones, Lily Tomlin, and Christopher Kennedy Lawford just to name a few. This event brings in a majority of the money needed every year to run Friendly House LA, and it is only through the generosity of the community around them that they are able to continue their profound and touching work. Having seen their facility and its work first-hand, I hope this year’s luncheon will be a huge success. This is a cause that’s Well Worth our Attention! Please click on the invitation below to go to the FRIENDLY HO– USE LA website to purchase tickets to this event, or call Friendly House LA at 213-389-8810 . If you are an out of towner and are unable to attend, but would like to purchase tables or tickets, or make a donation in my honor, please don’t hesitate. And if you or anyone you love is struggling with addiction, give Friendly House LA a call. Just as angels are here to help us, sometimes the angels need us to help them. I hope you will join us on October 9th, so we can help some angels who are working in our midst. All my best,
Friendly House LA is a 501(C)3 Non Profit Organization and your donations are tax deductible.
