The Young and Lonely Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization at the Volta Region of Ghana. It is registered with the Registrar General’s Department after having complied with the provision of Sections 27 and 28 of the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179).
It has, since its establishment in August 12, 1999, registered with the Department of Social Welfare and the Volta and West District Assemblies.
The main aim of the Foundation is to eradicate homelessness and illiteracy among orphans, less privileged and generally, needy girl child as far as their education and necessities are concerned in Volta
and other surrounding Districts in Ghana.
The Programmes of the Foundation includes:
1. Educational aid for the girl Child Development Project (ICT)
2. Outreach Monitoring Programmes
3. Environmental Protection
4. Women and Children Development
5. Human Rights 6. Agriculture and Food Security
7. Health, Education (Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS)
8. Exchange Programmes
9. Youth and Culture
10. Advocacy and Research Policy
Educational Aid for Child Development project run by the Foundation seeks to take care of the educational needs of the less privileged in the Region including their physical needs, mental abilities and social well being; we carry out other programmes including Health Screening and sensitization programmes in schools and communities in the Volta Region. It is in the light of improving the health status and life-span of these children and all invwith any ideas, donations or by linking us to donor agencies so as to create a wonderful and lovely future for these needy children.
We also appeal to all volunteers and voluntary organizations to help us with their services because we are in dire need of volunteers for our various programmes.

Volunteers may teach in our partner institution, Afanawo International School which comprises nursery, kindergarten, primary, junior and senior high schools. Otherwise voluntary service is needed in the foundations office, community outreach programmes (social work) as well as other programmes in agriculture, health and human capacity development in the country.
