ON-LINE-PLANET EARTH DAY: MAY 15, 2010.Live on-line, Planet Earth Day, a reflection of planet earth and the environmental conditions affecting our planet in peril. We welcome all members from all around the globe to participate on numerous topics and debates concerning our environment. We all need to share our thoughts and express our personal opinions, please let us know if you have a personal environmental story you would like to share with us that concerns your Nation or local community.
On behalf of the Civil Rights Party Of Canada we thank you for your continual support.

Editorial: Nicolas Hermes.Problems related to climate change have affected private, public and global preoccupations for some years. Several thousands of years ago the Earth was much colder when ice covered the major part of Europe, Russia and North America, this was known as the last ice age. Global warming during recent years are mostly caused by anthropogenic air pollution activity, in addition this also includes the natural order of evolution resulting in global warming. Human intervention has increased Earth’s climatic natural order and risks levels that may lead to specie extinction, normal climatic changes take thousands of years of evolution, we are incapable of estimating the natural course taken for these abrupt climatic changes occurring in this century.
Earth’s over heating or “Global Warming“ will cause major health risks to all human, plant and animal species. There are political and socio-economic consequences facing all global nations. Earth’s climate did not changed over night, climate change is caused by internal variations of the climate system whose main elements are, atmosphere, ocean, emergent lands, cryosphere & biosphere, and eternal natural and anthropogenic X-factors.
Scientific research indicates that the average temperature on the globe’s surface could increase by almost one half-degree every 10 years. The degree change may not sound very big but this will have a major impact on the Earth. Our planet’s anomalous climate changes are going through a permanent destabilization process, whether we like it or not the earth is changing dramatically. At present time, the earth is warming up rapidly, there is scientific evidence that suggests global over heating is already related to CO2 pollutants connected to excess human emission activity.
Future prediction for the evolution of climate change will affect the way all humans behave. Population growth will only add to this problem, our ever increasing energy demand, food consumption, waste, and socio-economic development chosen by global societies modulate future emissions of green house gases. Climate change will not go away and disappear over night, things will only get worse before they get better. In order to understand man’s future behavioural patterns affecting this planet we need to look back into our distant past. Like Neanderthal forty thousand years ago, modern man still requires the same basics needs in order to survive, energy, food, shelter, love, friendship and most of all a cultural & spiritual belief system. Humans are interdependent creatures that need to co-exist with mother nature.
Let us start by looking into extensive knowledge of past evolutionary origins of man in order to comprehend the evolutionary impact we are faced with today. We need to understand our psychological and physical behavioural patterns that process logical principles and moral actions. Humans need to understand harmonic self awareness that co-exists with mother nature, this is also important for personal growth and self worth. Building an effective relationship with mother earth will help us solve our global warming crisis. As the human species moves in to a new millennium, it will face many daunting uncertainties and unknown challenges. Eco-friendly technologies will present numerous opportunities for countries wanting to embrace them. Our world will rapidly change economically, new technology will pave the way forward and we all need to get onboard. There will be more business and job opportunities available in this new global market place through international trade and multilateral communication systems.
There will be future corporate downsizing in the manufacturing sectors that will be forced to close down or cut back because of the competitive nature facing this new world market place, future demand for lower energy & food costs will off set the global currency and banking system. China and India are now thriving during this economic global recession, this indicates that the tables have turned in North America and the rest of the world, we simply cannot compete with the lower labour costs abroad, we need to create new innovation on a national scale that will provide jobs locally. Even if you had a brilliant innovation that could sell world wide your chances of success would be to manufacture abroad because of lower labour costs, we are in a Catch-22 situation that needs to be resolved.
Economic instability will also be a great challenge for homeland security, economic downturns will increase unemployment and criminal activity, allowing black markets to take over our socio-economic fabric. National ethnic cleansing and racial gender bias, exist along side with radical religious and corporate opportunists that may also include corrupt government. We need to address our environmental issues and change manufacturing policies to meet with efficient carbon reducing systems and safe environmental practices that insure good health and well being for each citizen, providing education, job security and efficient health care system.
We have to adapt new global policies related to this new world order. Relations between individuals to better meet environmental challenges and opportunities concerning future global warming awareness. We need to implement new eco-friendly policies and government programs that assist each citizen in making better environmental choices.
Individuals must change on a personal level before a social and economic change can occur. From a philosophical point of view relations need to be adjusted after the effects of industrialization and economic development of a global society have changed the relations between humans and nature. The new course humanity has taken by plundering all our natural resources has brought us to this global warming crisis that may be irreversible.
Mother nature is fighting back, therefore the study of ethical cleansing and new relations between humans and the planet must be extended to the study of relationships between man and nature. We have to establish a “Global Ecological Ethics Committee,“ modern man has no more use for colonial traditional philosophy. It is necessary to search out new socio-economic ideologies and eco-friendly technologies that will establish a modern day `Civil-Eco-Ethics“ political party with new incentives creating a brighter and cleaner future for the 21st century.
Our behaviour depends in part on how we see and formulate new situations. This personal ability has resulted in much of modern sciences progress and reform. In order to change behaviour, one assumes that basic assumptions must be altered since new premises lead to difficult failures. For example, when new laws were introduced to protect non smokers from dangerous smoke pollution chemicals like nicotine, most of the people that smoked were threatened by health protection programs, but during this process the smokers belief system slowly adapted and made them realize that they were actually affecting others by second hand smoke, this message was well received and eventually lead to a decrease in the smoking community. All of this change starts with a belief system that can be shown, proven and then believed or accepted by the public.
This slow adaptation process involving education, public awareness and personal responsibility helps the person understand himself and his surrounding environment. Since the early 1900’s the modern industrial society and progress in science & technologies gives man the ability to change and enhance nature at a rapid pace. The economic development of human society also has further exceeded expectation, however along with these achievements side effects like global warming became more serious.
Over 100 years ago, when people were interacted with great achievements in conquering nature F. Engels warned us, « That we should not indulge ourselves more victories over nature because, for every such victory nature takes its revenge. The forest and prairies of barbaric times have been turned into deserts during this civilized age and industrialisation.
Economic development in many areas of the world have deteriorated the environment, off-setting earth’s ecological balance. Industrialization only predicts temporary economic prosperity, but also threatens our health and safety. Global warming has caused philosophers, scientists, futurologists and gathering of politicians, they all have prompted investigations of the good and bad side effects along with moral and safety issues. This has caused a new awakening of concern for environmental protection, and induced a new effort to protect the natural environment in various parts of the world.
Only when man understands the sensitive and fragile nature of planet earth, can we fully understand our relationship with nature and our local communities, learning to respect all life forms and the Earth we live in. Humans need to respect, protect and nourish our planet. Harmony between man and Earth is essential in winning this critical battle against global warming.
