CELEBRATE 120 YEARS OF THE PARLIAMENT

council interfaith celebration

Dear CPWR Board, Board Emeriti, and Cherished Friends,

Now that we have successfully met the Barcelona judgment challenge, we are moving on to exciting celebratory events!

Honoring the 120th Anniversary of the 1893 Parliament and the 20th Anniversary of the 1993 Parliament, the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions is embarking on a celebratory initiative entitled, “Looking Back to Move Forward.” This initiative has offered an insightful look into the work of past Parliaments and connected the Council with many Parliament attendees.

On May 11, 2013, CPWR begins its anniversary festivities with an interfaith celebration, in collaboration with the Sikh Religious Society of Palatine, IL. This initial event will be followed with others as the Looking Back to Move Forward initiative continues. The Council invites you to join us for the interfaith celebration, but to also attend a special round table event beforehand.

From 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM on May 11, 2013, the Council will convene a round table to discuss how the Parliament’s past can inform its dreams for the future.

We invite you to participate in this special discussion, as we would love to anchor your input in the mission going forward.

In the hope of producing constructive feedback, the round table will consist of three sections – the gathering, small group discussion, and a synthesizing of ideas.

Please invite other Parliament attendees to enrich our conversation.

An interfaith celebration will follow the round table. This celebration will include music, prayer, conversation, and Langar.

Please find the details on the attached flyer.

  • All are welcome!
  • Invite friends and colleagues!

We hope you will join us in shaping the future of the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions.

Please R.S.V.P by May 3rd to Ashley@parliamentofreligions.org.

Sincerely,

Mary Nelson
