…A Sample of these Ladies’ Friends and the Charitable work accomplished…
Each year, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) draws thousands of international filmmakers, stars and
media to Toronto and for this years festival (Sept. 10-19), The Wine Ladies are entering the exciting world of web TV.
Georgia and Susanne (The Wine Ladies) set up their temporary TV studio at Michelles Brasserie located at 162 Cumberland Street in Yorkville – ground zero for the film festival – and have conducted brief interviews with the stars, filmmakers, writers, international VIPs and media representatives discussing favourite wines, what wines go with which movies at this years festival, favourite movies about wine (e.g.: Bottle Shock, Sideways, A Walk in the Clouds, Under the Tuscan Sun) – the ultimate in wine TV!
Celebrity guests are invited to enjoy a glass of wine with The Wine Ladies www.TheWineLadies.com
We had the thrill of sitting down for a chat and a glass of fine Jackson-Triggs Meritage wine with Jim Treliving the dragon from the major hit CBC TV series Dragons Den. Charming, charismatic and easy to talk to, hes known as the tough guy with a soft spot for a good deal and a delicious meal. He is the man behind Boston Pizza, Canada’s No. 1 casual dining brand, having started with a $5000 loan from his Dad. Jim and his partner have parlayed that small some of money into over a $800 million dollar casual-dining chain spread across North America with more than 350 locations. Jim has investments in many other successful business ventures including residential real estate development, The Mr. Lube (for a quick oil change), sports entertainment and the Texas oil and gas industry and more.
Jim serves as chairman of both Global Entertainment Corporation, which trades on the American Stock Exchange under GEC, and the Boston Pizza Foundation, which has raised almost $10.0 million for various Canadian charities since 1990. He is also a director of the Hockey Canada Foundation, dedicated to increasing funding for minor league hockey in Canada.
He loved our signature The Wine Ladies glasses, gave us a few business ideas, shared some stories on the celebrities he has met over the years and shared with us his favorite Boston pizza and wine match too.
