Before we ‘kick the bucket’, many people have a list of things they want to do. This list often includes activities that seem far-fetched and are outside of one’s comfort zone. These activities might include things that you aspire to but don’t actually think you will achieve in your lifetime. However, creating and ticking off items on a bucket list can be extremely gratifying, and can lead to an enormous sense of well-being. So, here are six things that you should add to your bucket list that are unique, realistic, and will help you feel great about yourself once you tick them off.

Try Skiing

Skiing is one of those winter sports that many people associate with adrenaline junkies. Although it is true that skiing can be a dangerous sport, there is a reason there are many avid skiers around the world. Gliding down a snowy slope is incredibly exciting, and the sights you see while performing this sport are something else. Ski destinations often boast a magnificent mountainous backdrop, which makes ski trips one of the most memorable vacation ideas you could try. Do you want an idea of what to know about skiing if you’re a beginner? Then make sure you invest in some lessons and do your research about the sport beforehand.

Go Scuba Diving

Did you know that over two-thirds of the earth is made up of water? In fact, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) claims that over 80 percent of the ocean floor has yet to be explored. With this in mind, donning some scuba gear and exploring the great unknown is high up on the list of many adventurous types. The underwater world is a beautiful place to be, and there are plenty of exotic sights to see. From the beautiful coral in the Great Barrier Reef to the majestic manta rays in Indonesia and the plethora of diverse marine life in the Red Sea, you will be spoiled for choice if you obtain a scuba diving certification.

Visit One of the Seven Wonders of the World

Unfortunately, only one of the original seven wonders of the world is still standing, and that’s the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. For this reason, visiting the pyramids at least once in your lifetime is a must. Alternatively, there are seven new wonders of the world that are well worth visiting. These are the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal in India, Machu Picchu in Peru, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Petra in Jordan, the Colosseum in Italy, and finally, Chichen Itza in Mexico. These unique landmarks are all man-made UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and they will all take your breath away.

Climb a Mountain

Whether you’re an avid hiker or you have yet to spend an extended amount of time in the great outdoors, climbing a mountain is a fantastic achievement that you can be proud of. Some mountains can take just an hour or so to climb, while others might take months. Mount Everest is a bucket list favorite for many, but it can cost tens of thousands of dollars. Not to mention, people train for months before they’re ready to conquer this mountain. However, there are plenty of other mountain hikes that can provide stupendous views and are ideal for mountain climbers of varying abilities. For example, Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales, and it can take less than six hours to

reach the top. Mount Fuji is an iconic mountain in Japan, and many people summit it in five to ten hours.

Write a Memoir

A memoir is a narrative of a person’s life, and writing a memoir is a great way for people to record the many wonderful things they have experienced in their lifetime. In your memoir, you can record your hopes, your dreams, and your achievements. You can also write anecdotes about platonic and romantic relationships and the heart-wrenching periods of your life. Memoirs can be shared with the people you love so that they can get an inkling of how you have lived, or you can keep them for your eyes only. Either way, writing about your life can be freeing, and it is a great way to express your feelings.

Travel By Yourself At Least Once

Whether you are one of those people who enjoy their own company, or you prefer to be around friends and family most of the time, solo travel is a valuable experience. Traveling by yourself at least once in your life can teach you to be comfortable in your own skin and how to be independent, and it will help you discover more about yourself.
