It can be hard to find the perfect outfit for the big day, but with these tips, you will be able to find the perfect outfit in no time.
Colours
Although it is nice to look and feel trendy, sometimes the hottest trends don’t suit everyone. Make sure that you make your decision based upon what flatters your skin tone and hair colour. If what suits you happens to be the seasons on-trend colour then that is fantastic, but don’t wear something that doesn’t work for you. After all, fashion comes and goes, but the wedding pictures will be there forever! You will also need to think about the season when it comes to choosing the perfect colour if it’s a winter wedding it’s better to go for dark, autumnal colours rather than bright colours, as these can work best for summer weddings instead.
Comfort
You will be wearing your outfit all day, so you need to make sure you look and feel comfortable. You don’t want to be wearing something that requires constant fiddling and maintaining. You will be busy all day, so make sure your outfit is both practical and comfortable. Don’t squeeze yourself into an outfit, if you need mother of the bride plus size clothing, then go for it. It is better to be comfortable than to squeeze yourself into something that doesn’t quite fit. Again, you need to think about the seasons too. If it is a winter wedding, make sure your outfit keeps you warm as well as making you look good too.
Hats and Headpieces
Unless the wedding has a very formal dress code, you can pretty much wear whatever you suit best. If you choose to wear a fascinator, make sure it sits on the same side as your parting. If you choose to wear a hat, don’t wear it at the back of your head. The best way to wear a hat is so that you must slightly elevate your neck to be able to see out of the brim. If you choose not to wear either, go for some stand out earrings and get your hair done professionally.
Accessories
Sometimes less is more. If you choose to wear a plain outfit, then a statement piece will be flattering. However, if your outfit is already quite bold, it is best to keep your accessories to a minimum. It may end up looking too much if you wear a statement outfit and statement jewellery. If you are wearing silk, then pearls will complement this and will also add a lot of class.
Consider the Back Too
When choosing an outfit, it is very rare that anyone considers what the back looks like and even if they do, and it doesn’t look as good as the front, no one minds too much. However, for a wedding, the back is just as important. This is because photos will be taken from a multitude of different angles and you will also be flaunting it when you make your way down the aisle.
