Reasons Why You Should Consider Cremation over Burial

The world’s population has been increasing everyday and we cannot change the fact that we can actually say the same for the number of deaths that we are seeing on the news. The subject about dying and how they’re planning to be laid to rest can be a sensitive topic for other people, however, that is the common final destination for all of us and we have to prepare for it no matter what. Nowadays, more and more people are starting to consider cremation over traditional burial.

There are a number of reasons as to why most people choose this method, not only because they get to keep the urns but there are also a lot of items on the list. Let’s go and take a look at some of them.

Reason #1: It Is Cost Efficient

Traditional ground burial are more expensive than you think. This is one of the most common misconceptions about cremation, most people think they are more expensive than a burial. In reality cremation is approximately 40% to 50% less expensive than a traditional ground burial, cremation does not require a grave nor a gravestone which are some of the things that make traditional burials expensive. There are a lot of families as well that are now skipping the embalming process in addition to the cheaper cost of cremation urns compared to buying a casket.

Reason #2: Space Saving and Mobility

Due to the reason that keepsake urns are cheaper and smaller compared to caskets, you have a lot of options as to where you plan on placing your loved ones urn. You can either place it in a columbarium or just in your home. Since it is also very lightweight you can move it from one place to another, it will be easier when you need to move and relocate to a new home.

Reason #3: It Is Environmentally Friendly

During the embalming process a lot of chemicals are being used in order to complete the procedure. Imagine that the body is being buried six feet under with all those chemicals and it will be mixed into the soil thus the reason why traditional burials are not eco-friendly. The cremation process on the other hand is more natural and more organic making it safe for the environment.

Reason #4: Simplicity Is Beauty

The cremation process can eliminate those elaborate and fancy ground burial ceremony that involves big and heavy caskets. Due to the reason that the urn is much smaller and lighter, therefore, it is much easier to handle compared to a heavy casket. A simple ceremony can be done inside your home rather than in the cemetery, simple yet classy and can give the same amount of respect for your loved one.

Reason #5: Become A Tree

One of the great opportunities of cremation is to be planted as a tree. Nowadays, there are organizations that offer the family to have the remains of their loved one to be planted and become a memorial tree. This is the most eco-friendly method there is and soon, we will no longer visit graves but we will visit forests with our loved ones memorial tree in it.

Reason #6: Shine Bright Like A Diamond

With today’s technology, there’s now a way on turning cremated remains into jewelry or diamonds. Now you should be asking “why would I want to do this?”, simple, you may want your loved one to be with you at all times. With this kind of method as well, you don’t have to worry about driving long hours just to visit their graves. You can just pray for them anytime and anywhere since you always have them with you. Very convenient and very simple.
