Planning for Pregnancy

An unplanned pregnancy can predictably cause severe stress to both future parents. Mostly, because previously it wasn’t necessary for them to lead a life centered around all social and health needs of a newborn. Actually, you can avoid this. To that end, such thing as pregnancy planning exists helping to conceive and give birth to a healthy child.

In order to have a baby as healthy as possible and keep all complications during pregnancy or childbirth aside, it’s better to start improving your own health early before the baby is even conceived. The age of a future mother is sure to be a significant factor while planning. This four-stage scheme presented below contains basic steps useful for every woman. It also doesn’t matter if it’s the first, second or even sixth baby you’re planning, this algorithm of pregnancy planning will still come in handy.

Firstly, apart from realizing the new level of responsibility, it’s important to attend a gynecologist for a full examination and labs. After that, you will know which specialists you should visit to prevent diseases that can cause poor heredity in your baby or become a contraindication for pregnancy at all. The stereotype about late pregnancy at 30-35 years is long gone now. Though there’s a certain risk, all organs work at their full capacity.

Secondly, you should get all required vaccines prior to conceiving a baby. There is a problem now when in some countries people started to refuse vaccination. It is one of the biggest mistakes which can lead to a number of disorders and defects in newborns. So, it’s more than important to know if a future mother has immunity to infections that forms after vaccination.

Thirdly, it’s the perfect time for taking care of your health. You might start taking more walks in the open air, getting enough sleep, eating more fresh vegetables and fruits, or even going to the gym. The last is especially good for mature women as their muscles can be less resilient and their joints’ elasticity declines. However, as the second trimester approaches, you’ll have to reduce the physical activity a little. Under no circumstances should you overwork!

Lastly, you have to choose the right clinic and gynecologist who will observe you during the whole term of pregnancy. One of the most important things you need to remember while choosing a maternity clinic at the end of the second trimester is the availability of essential equipment and qualified specialists who can help prevent sudden bleedings.

The provided advice will be useful not only for women, but for future dads too. So, following them highly increases the chances of having a healthy baby. Of course, this process requires great efforts from the couple but in the end, no one regretted becoming parents.
