5 Significant Advantages of Female Education in 2019

H1: The 5 Major Advantages of Female Education in 2019

Women in the west seem to be doing rather well. They make for over half of all university students, enjoy a lot of privileges on the job market, and the wealth gap is slowly decreasing. Why then would UN Women dedicate so much of its efforts to women education?

As this article by Kelilani Johnson argues, it is because of global benefits. Read on to find out what five major factors form women’s education importance.

H2: It is good for the economy

You can’t underestimate the importance of women education for the developing economies. The thing is, some countries are so tangled up in old traditions, it becomes damaging for the economy.

For instance, very traditional families in Afganistan do not believe women should work. And, the practice of marrying off girls without their consent is still alive in some parts of the country.

Now, if half the population is confined to the kitchen, it’s not only wrong from the moral standpoint but also detrimental to the economy.

The better education women have, the more productive their work can be. One year of secondary education results in a 25% increase in wages. If all women get a basic education and enter the workplace, the country’s economy is going to be booming.

This means women’s education is crucial for developing economies.

H2: It is good for society

Patriarchy is deeply ingrained in some cultures. Women are massively shunned away from education and steered towards family life at a very early age.

That archaic belief holds that it is better for society if a woman is “the mother of the household.” However, it is plain wrong. An educated woman is a far better asset for the community as a whole.

Women are statistically more likely to give back to the community. They prevail in industries that form and support society, education, and medicine. Women also value building a healthy community more than men do.

Sure, women will always be involved in childbearing. However, the more educated you are, the more benefits your children receive. Educated women show decreased birth mortality rates and are less probable to be in an abusive relationship. Also, the chances of their children getting a good education are higher.

If more education is one of the goals for a country, it should focus on women first. It may be disproportionate at first, but in the long run, the whole country will prosper.

H2: It is good for the women

You can’t argue with the importance of female education for others. What about the individual?

It may be obvious, but even a basic education improves the quality of life immensely. You can often forget about this, as school is a common commodity for you. However, for many people, it’s not.

Education gives women opportunities that they otherwise would never have. Educated women do not marry as early. Since they get married in the age when they know more about life as a whole, they can make the choice themselves. That results in more freedom, social and economic.

An educated woman can work anywhere from the government to an online essay service company like https://www.bestcustomwriting.com. She can create her own future and choose for herself.

H2: It is good for the culture

Sadly, in many parts of the world, toxic masculinity and toxic culture remain a thing women face every day. Physical and mental abuse, sexual harassment, and de facto infringement on your rights is something they are expected to put up with.

Many young women do. They simply don’t know any better. That is a part of the reason why in some rural regions of Africa, female genital mutilation (FGM) is still a thing.

This misogynistic practice would likely end within a generation if women were educated. No woman with knowledge of the effects of this operation on the physical and mental wellbeing of their child will allow it to happen.

Culturewise, other negative sides like the expectation to stick with an abusive husband, will become relics of the past as well.

H2: It is the right thing to do

People nowadays are concerned about staying on the right side of history. Many are divided on what side of history is the right side. Well, this one surely is.

You can’t argue that FGM and marrying off your daughter without her consent are good things. You can’t argue that personal freedom for young women in developing countries is a bad thing. You can’t argue that changing culture for the better is bad.

Everyone can agree that supporting these causes is the right thing to do.
