Now, when a person acquires an ESA letter, he becomes eligible to have an emotional support animal. However, still, there are a few things to be taken care of. These are handled by the licensed mental health professional. If there is currently a pet owned by the person who got ESA letter, then the mental health professional will see if the perp son gets adequate support from his current pet or not. If the current pet is helpful for the mental well- being, then the mental health professional, will declare his current pet his emotional support animal. the
Now, when the mental health professional finds out that the pet of person is not providing adequate support or if there is no pet with the person, then rescue shelters or the animal adoption centers will help the person in getting a new pet which will be beneficial for the emotional health of the person and will be declared as the ESA for the patient.

The prescription that mentions the eligibility of a person for acquiring an emotional support dog contains the name of the person with a mental disability and the details about the emotional support dog that is given to that person. The details about dog include its breed, color, name, etc. After getting this proper letter, the patient becomes the official owner of the emotional support dog and can take him anywhere with him. The dog will provide emotional support to the patient while the patient will take care of the dog. The airlines will allow the emotional dogs to travel with the patient because there is a law that allows them to do so. Moreover, no landlord will deny residence to any emotional support dog.
