A Celebration of Women Foundation Inc. successfully began their round of celebration events scheduled in Lucknow. One such screening of the documentary movie made on Begum Hazrat Mahal last queen of AWADH was done today in collaboration with the Manipal Public School, Omaxe City, Eldeco, Lucknow.
This is for the the first time this documentary movie has been screened especially for the students.
The celebration screening had Ms Manzilat Khan as their Guest of honour. She is the Great great grand daughter of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and Begum Hazrat Mahal long with other esteemed guests. There was an interesting interactive session that was conducted between the students of Manipal Public School and Manzilat Khan. The students asked her interesting questions relating to Hazrat Mahal, she gave them equally satisfying answers along with her short speech on the courage and valour that was shown by her Great great grand mother Begum Hazrat Mahal at the first war of Indian Independence.
Guest of honour was presented a hand made portrait of Hazrat Mahal which was made by their Arts teacher and hand made cards by students were all also given to the guests.
Guest invitee Murli Ahuja, Royal Cafe group took on to the stage to encourage the students to celebrate independence day with more vigour and passion.
Anupma Shukla, Principal, Manipal Public School and Advisor to Asia at a celebration of women gave their vote of thanks to all the guests and audiences for their attendance to a packed hall at the screening amidst big round of applauds.
In fact Advisor to Asia, Meetika Srivastava, took the initiative to conduct the screening of the documentary movie in several schools and colleges of Lucknow to inspire the youth through the Begum’s story. The documentary film is produced by FILMS DIVISION, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Directed by award winning director Mohiuddin Mirza.
