Women empowerment is a global phenomenon which is not only the need of hour but also symbolizes the societal development of a democratic nation. As we inch towards attaining the status of a developed country, it becomes our responsibility to rise above the social bias against our women and bring about gender equality in our society. Our motto is equal justice for women as Mahatma Gandhi said

Anupma Foundation is a non profit organization based in Lucknow, India. It was registered in 2010 under the society registration act 21, 1860 . Earlier it was named as Durga Devi Sarvjan Sewa Sansthan. FOUNDER: Anupma Singh

It is based on the ideology of women empowerment and better education and quality life for women as well as girls.

It was formed with the basic objective to save girl child and promotes this awareness not only in urban but also in remote rural areas. In 3 years of its existence, this organization has been successful in providing all the benefits and the status that every woman or girl is entitled off.

Anupma Foundation has worked very hard to provide quality treatment to girls suffering from congenital heart disease and cancer. Women have equal rights to attain their desired status and rights in the society but still, in our country, they are deprived of all this.

Since its inception, Anupma Foundation is working towards a society empowering women to know their rights and building necessary skills to endure their well being. We believe that any society can be called developed only if it has a rational and enduring approach towards its women.

To achieve this purpose, we create awareness amongst the women through their education and imparting them skills that can make them financially independent and infuse confidence in them so as to lead their lives on their own terms without facing any discrimination.

The biggest drawback of our society is that we never make our women economically independent. This is the primary reason for their deteriorating situation because they are dependent on their male counterparts for every petty need and are suppressed by them which do not let them raise their voice against anything wrong being done to them.

Anupma Foundation has taken an initiative in this direction by engaging women in income generating activities to increase income. We arrange various training camps for making them learn new skills to earn livelihood. Once they have skill in their kitty, they can easily earn their living with full dignity without any exploitation.

The United Nations Children’s Fund, estimated that up to 50 million girls and women are ‘missing’ from India’s population because of termination of the female foetus or high mortality of the girl child due to lack of proper care.

Facts About Women in India

• Only 22% of women in rural India were recorded as workers.
• India also had highest rate of violence during pregnancy – 50 percent were kicked, beaten or hit when pregnant.
• Between 1980 and 1990 there was an increase of nearly 74% in crimes against women.
• 35% sexual violence by low economic groups and 61 % among the highest income groups.

MISSION AND VISION

Anupma foundation aims towards society which co-exists with their counter parts by changing the current scenario of female freedom and that too in the complete manner free of any discrimination to move towards a world without any taboos or conservatism towards the females.

The vision and mission of Anupma foundation revolve around an indiscriminate and violence free society for women. A woman can bring about a societal balance only if she understands and respects her own identity and intends to fight against all odds to attain all the rights she is entitled to. Thus, we aim at making women realize their true power and potential.

Anupma Foundation’s main mission is to empower women to end gender disparity and bring women in streamline because when women are supported and empowered, all of society benefit, community become more resilient.

Empowerment of women is the only means to achieve these goals of our foundation. We endeavor to leave no stone un-turned to work towards the sustainable development of women through proper and planned educational, employment, healthcare initiatives across the state. A woman is an epitome of love, care and devotion and also of strength, endurance and power.

Anupma Foundation is dedicated to bring out that uniqueness in every woman. We know that progress of our Nation towards our goal of democratic socialism cannot be achieved without active participation of our mothers, wives and sisters.

SAVE WOMEN SAFE WOMEN

This was an initiative to call the citizens of different walks of life at a common platform to share their views and enlighten with their novel ideas which can help the government and their instrumentalists in imparting good governance in order to curb the growing crime rate against women.

The ideas and views were forwarded to the State government functionaries so that they may imbibe it in their policies to come out with some viable solution for making women feel safe round the clock at their home and while they are moving in society. It was an open forum on August 1st 2014 at 3 P.M. at Jai Shanker Prasad Sabhagar(Rai UmaNath Bali Auditorium,Kaiserbagh, Lucknow).

Save Women Safe Women campaign is our constant endeavor to bring the citizens to a common platform so that each voice of citizens may culminate into a joint movement against crime and atrocities being inflicted on female gender.
