DANNY: Ok great, give us a bit of background about what made you decide to develop Leafit? How did Leafit evolve?
LAWRENCE: Basically, when I first came up with the idea of Leafit, it was to bring social networking, eCommerce and search into one platform. That was the overall vision and the way it started, it was pretty complex. There was a lot of development that needed to be done and as I looked at it overtime it eventually simplified down to an app which is what we’re developing now. We haven’t brought searching into it as of yet but we will be in the near future. I think it was November of 2013 when the idea to simplify it started.
Leafit is about helping our users monetize their content through eCommerce, this is probably where the biggest magic or the piece of magic is as far as this product stands. It is going to be easy for people to turn their pictures and or media into a format that allows items to be purchased, straight off their content.DANNY: Ok. This sounds great! What do you think is the future of social media for all of us?
LAWRENCE: In my opinion, I think that social media is going in a direction where users are going to demand more control of their own content, where users are going to opt to something useful, as for different tasks. Simplicity also, I think apps are going to have less features, more simple. Users are wanting more control of their content, because, there is value in that. They know that social networks make money from their data and that is why, as developers, we came up with this idea. We want the users to have control of their content and be able to make money from that. We are going to do a data play as well where users can share their data and make money from it. I think the future of social media is going to allow users to have more control of their life and the content that they are putting out there for everybody to see.
