Louise Hay celebrates Jennifer Lopez’s book, True Love!

Louise Hay says: “I would like to recommend a book for you to read. It is True Love (Penguin, November 2014) by the lovely and wonderful singer, dancer, actress and reality television star of American Idol, Jennifer Lopez. When you get to page 195, you may be surprised to see my name in it!”

During a time when her challenges were mounting, Jennifer sought healing words from what she calls one of her favorite inspirational books—You Can Heal Your Life. She kept telling her friends, “I wonder what Louise Hay would do” and “I wish I could have Louise Hay with me, to show me how to deal with all this.”

Then one of her friends suggested, “Let’s call Louise!”

I remember receiving that phone call. It was a couple of years ago. I had just returned from a trip to Europe. I spent time there with some of my friends during Wayne Dyer’s Experiencing the Miraculous Tour. Then I sprained my knee on the last day of the trip.

I was so happy that Jennifer reached out to me and I was very excited to meet her, too. I still had my sprained knee when I visited Jennifer and I remember having quite a challenge getting up all her steps in her house with the wheelchair I was in. But get up them I did!

When I finally reached the top of the stairs, there she was—simply more beautiful than any photo I have seen of her. Jennifer has the most magnificent smile and she instantly made me feel at home. She also has the best laugh! I can tell it comes straight from her soul.

We had a lovely conversation. Jennifer shared many deep feelings. We talked for quite some time. I was happy to discover that Jennifer has been using affirmations. I wrote down several new ones for her before I left.

One day about a month ago, I received a package in the mail from Jennifer. It was a copy of her new book, True Love. I sat down and started reading it and it truly warmed my heart. I am very honored and grateful that Jennifer devoted four pages to talk about our conversation and the lessons she learned from me.

Like Louise taught me, I keep dancing. I may not be getting all the steps right yet, but I’m dancing my heart out. I am the woman I’ve always wanted to be because for the first time I can truly say that yes, I love myself. That’s the key. That’s the greatest love of all, the one that matters most, the one that Max and Emme taught me all about.

That’s TRUE LOVE.
