Upcoming Virtual Dialogue on Transformation
The UN Women Community of Practice will be holding its third Virtual Dialogue from 16th June – 4th July, on the topic of Transformation through Training for Gender Equality. The overall objective of the Virtual Dialogue is to work collectively towards the development of a theory of transformation through training for gender equality in order to make the practice of training for gender equality more effective and, ultimately, transformative (see Concept Note). The Virtual Dialogue will be guided by three key questions:
• What do we want to transform through training for gender equality?
• How can we transform it through training for gender equality?
• How will we know that such transformation has occurred?
During the Virtual Dialogue, experts, researchers, practitioners and other stakeholders will gather to discuss the key issues involved in Transformation through Training for Gender Equality. As with previous Virtual Dialogues on Evaluation and Knowledge, the discussions will be synthesised into a report which will be disseminated throughout the Community of Practice and UN Women’s communication channels. The results of this Virtual Dialogue will feed in to the working paper on this topic which will be developed by the Training Centre. More broadly, the outcomes will also complement the Training Centre’s work ahead of Beijing +20 in 2015, with a view to initiating a dialogue on these issues.
