“Tranforming today’s princess to tomorrow’s Queen! It’s not what you been through but, where you are going to!! “
My name is Quetell Duncombe, aka Coach QLD, a sexual abuse survivor, activist against child abuse, violence against women, mentor and founder of The Princess Maker Movement.
I was molested from the aged was of 7 years old that I can recall and rejected for telling my family in an effort to get help and be protected. Needless to say, I didn’t get the help nor protection and was silenced for years which enabled my ‘victimizers‘ the opportunity to continue and escalate the act to rape, repeatedly.
After many difficult years of no self-esteem, self-confidence or self-worth, I struggled with many symptoms; such as attempted suicide, manifesting weight problems, falling into the depths of depression and the list went on.
My faith in God had helped me find my way to hope, healing and restoration thus The Princess Maker Movement was born. A mentoring program that empower, inspire promotes academic achievement, positive relationships, elegance and an overall mindset of excellence!!
A mentoring program for females.
This mentoring program was created to empower, inspire, help raise confidence, self-esteem and nurture females toward personal maturity and success!
The Princess Maker mentoring program promotes academic achievement, positive relationships, elegance and an overall mindset of excellence.
Our Vision:
The Princess Maker, will be the preeminent organization that prepares inner-city and reform high risk girls for achievement and leadership and creates unawareness of early detection and pervention of domestic abuse. Our Mission:
To create and maintain an enviroment where we will inspire and empower each other to become confident individuals and to develop the skills needed to build a strong family and communitySlogan:
“It’s not what you’ve been through but where you are going to!! — YOU ARE ROYALTYBiography of Quetell Duncombe
Founder of Princess MakerQuetell is a passionate & dedicated professional that has served communites for over 20 years through mentoring, educating through the arts and empowerment. Her desire to be influential in seeing youth and adults respect themselves and others, demonstrate strong character and live in purpose is what leads her journey. She is known for her infectious smile and inspiration that motivates others toward positive change.
She has had the opportunity to display leadership in the religious field since childhood. Quetell began participating in the choir, drama & dance at age 10, and at age 12 she was made children’s assistant choir director. In 2000 she formed a liturgical dance team in her church, Little Jerusalem Apostolic church with 12 girls, since then at their jamboree in June there was 30 in that combined group comprising of little girls to woman, ranging from 7-41 years of age. Her love for children is so evident that she was made the choir director as well.
She is a member of The Bahamas National Gospel Mass Choir from 1994 to present, led by Rev. Patrick Smith, also a pass member of “Chosen” dance group, where she was instrumental in assisted teaching sessions in early inception, founded by Mrs. Crystal Burrows.
She is a certified chef, from The Hotel Training College 1995-1998 which she really enjoys and is a part of her mentoring program.
Her vision to empower young girls and others led her on missions in (2) two cities in the United States, namely Miami, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, where she assisted in areas of music, dance, drama also, develop & organized an ongoing woman conference. It provided women & teenage girls the opportunity to build and strengthen self-esteem, and find their value and confidence in life through positive inspiration using the outlet of the arts.
One of her goals is to build a home for girls that need temporary housing. This along with her own life experiences of overcoming the pain, hurt and struggles of being molested, raped and witnessing domestic violence has inspired her to create The Princess Maker in 2013. This mentoring program provide an opportunity for participating girls to have healed hearts, sound minds and a new, balanced perspective.
God continues to bless Quetell with a gift that offers healing, insight and wholeness through teaching His Words of love and encouragement in medium and small groups of women and men. She is known for her “straight forward” ability to communicate, while offering the challenge to grow in faith. She has traveled in response to the call on her life, motivating, educating and teaching at several workshops, seminars and conferences in The United States. It is her desire to strengthen and build up schools, individuals and families and bring Godly influence to our local communities and internationally.
Quetell Duncombe is married to Minister George Duncombe, their union is blessed with (three) 3 children: Joshua, Justin and (Princess) Jessica-Jaylee.
Who Is It For?
Princess Maker was designed for the girl/women:
- Currently attending primary – Senior school (10 – 19 years old)
- Extended program for (20 and beyond) that adult who missed they “Princess” opportunity to be heal and restored.
- That can benefit from support, guidance and encouragement through positive female influence.
- That is willing to set and meet academic, community service, behavioural and career goals.
- That recongnizes the importance of how healthy relationships can influence success.
- That inspite of experiencing road blocks or life obstacles is determined to succeed.
- That realizes that it is time to raise the standard while modeling intelligence, classiness, beauty, & respect.
My vision for The Princess Maker Movement, is that we will become the preeminent organization that prepares inner-city and reformed high risk girls for achievement and leadership Worldwide and to create unawareness for the desperate need globally of early detection and prevention of child abuse and violence against women.
I tried getting assistance from my Government in The Bahamas for my program and was denied. That rejection had only stirred up much more faith, resilience, persistence, and passion in this movement for me and confirmed to me that it was my destiny to speak for those who didn’t have a voice; and create a platform for such as well. I was convinced me to take the rejection as a sign that a message and much needed program like this one, need not be confined to The Bahamas, but globalized.
