Breath and mind are intrinsically connected. By teaching them simple and different techniques of breath, these women who have experienced trauma, violence, threat and have resulted in an emotional turmoil will find a way to handle their disturbed mind, which is totally in their own hands, with a tool, as simple as their own breath.
The rest in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep that one can ever have. When the mind becomes free from agitation, is calm and serene and at peace, meditation happens. The benefits of meditation are manifold. It is an essential practice for mental hygiene. A calm mind, good concentration, clarity of perception, improvement in communication, blossoming of skills and talents, an unshakeable inner strength, healing, the ability to connect to an inner source of energy, relaxation, rejuvenation, and good luck are all natural results of meditating regularly.
In today’s world where more and more women are in stressful junctures of life, because of violence and trauma, stress, anger and depression is spreading faster than the eye can see or the mind can perceive. Meditation could provide these perturbed minds some solace. Meditation is no more a luxury. It is a necessity. To be unconditionally happy and to have peace of mind is the birth right of every woman. It pains me to think that so many women in my community are deprived of it. I have always believed that women are the pillars in a community – they keep everyone together. So, when we empower women to succeed, we are enabling society to prosper.
This initiative aims to increase awareness of the powerful benefits of meditation as a practical way to recharge, refresh and rejuvenate.
· Learn the connection between breathing and meditation.
· Meditate and enhance the quality of your life.
