A Celebration of Women™

is elated to Celebrate the Life of yet another amazing Canadian woman that has devoted much of her life to the betterment of others. With challenging beginnings facing a teen-aged pregnancy, her conviction, persistence and vision has guided her to a life as the woman leader she is today, with a passion for our youth. As CEO of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, this woman leader has broken barriers in many areas of the female life: a seat at the boardroom table, leader in charity …and more.

She believes that a strong not-for-profit sector is critical for supporting healthy and vibrant communities. She is dedicated to strengthening the NFP sector by building capacity which promotes civic participation and encourages innovation. A transformative leader, she has a demonstrated history of both developing strategies which promise positive change and leading others to deliver on those promises.

“As a big supporter of the Center for Effective Philanthropy, I was pleased to be asked to provide feedback on an earlier version of the recently released Nonprofit Challenges: What Foundations Can Do. In 2009 and again in 2012, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) used CEP to conduct surveys of our grantees and applicants to find out how we help them to meet their missions, how easy it is to work with us, and where we can improve. …”
