World Pulse Joins V-Day in calling for the world to rise against gender-based violence.V-Day’s Campaign, One Billion Rising began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than one billion women and girls.
On 14 February 2013, V-Day’s 15th Anniversary, activists, writers, thinkers, celebrities and women and men across the world will come together to express their outrage, strike, dance, and RISE in defiance of the injustices women suffer, demanding an end at last to Violence Against Women.
Our Campaign
World Pulse has recently concluded its Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.
World Pulse will now deliver your voices —- hundreds of courageous testimonies and innovative solutions—-to strategic forums and media outlets. Earlier this month our community’s voices from the Democratic Republic of the Congo were hand-delivered to gender-violence activists and world leaders at the African Union Summit in Ethiopia (read more about that here). And, in March, the global content from our Campaign will be delivered to the 57th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
