President Karzai and President Obama Speak on Telephone
KABUL, Afghanistan – President Hamid Karzai and President Barack Obama held a telephone conversation this evening, Afghanistan time.President Obama telephoned President Karzai to thank him for his congratulatory message and wishes on his re-election.
President Karzai, who has just returned from official trips to Indonesia and India, reiterated his congratulations to President Obama on his victory and wished him further success.
In return, President Obama thanked President Karzai for his message of congratulations and extended an invitation to President Karzai to visit the United States at his earliest convenience for talks on continued bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries, which President Karzai accepted with thanks.
