Women’s Leadership: Strategies for Success
Series starts October 12, 2011
Join other women on the fast-track to senior federal leadership positions and develop strategies for success that capitalize on distinctive female strengths while avoiding potential pitfalls. In a tailored, nine-month program, women across federal agencies will strengthen their leadership and explore how to ascend the ladder of success while maintaining authenticity and balance. The Strategies for Success program emphasizes the power of building a learning cohort which stays engaged throughout the length of the program.
A faculty director will lead the seminar series, providing her content expertise in emotional intelligence, leading change, and work-team dynamics. Guest speakers will instruct in topics such as authentic leadership and communicating across genders. In addition, the faculty director will engage with the group between programs, facilitating a continuing conversation among participants and providing one-on-one coaching if desired.
Participants will meet for six one-day seminars over the course of nine months. These highly interactive sessions will include a variety of networking opportunities, group-mentoring conversations, and peer-to-peer coaching. Between seminars, participants will extend the classroom sessions through selected readings and discussions, on-line conversations, assessments, and journaling. Other highlights of the program include our SES Mentor breakfasts, Open Space Discussions, and various leadership assessments.
Program participants will meet at The Brookings Institution to develop their strategies for success. Program materials, including exact meeting times, location, and an agenda, will be sent to you by our program staff as the course date approaches. Brookings Executive Education programs include breakfast and lunch and run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
An optional 360º leadership assessment and coaching package (six one-hour coaching sessions) is available for $3,500.
