The Three Poisons: Attachment, Aversion or Ignorance

The three poisons (Sanskrit: triviṣa; Tibetan: dug gsum) or the three unwholesome roots (Sanskrit: akuśala-mūla; Pāli: akusala-mūla), in Buddhism, refer to the three root kleshas of ignorance, attachment, and aversion. These three poisons are considered to be the cause of suffering (Sanskrit: dukkha). In the Buddhist teachings, the three poisons (of ignorance, attachment, and aversion) are the primary causes that keep sentient beings trapped in samsara. As shown in the wheel of life … [Read more...]

Faith, Family and Friends, Larry James

I've been a relationship coach since 1995. It seems that more and more couples are struggling to get their priorities right. The three topics that have come up over the past 8 to 10 months have been faith, family and friends. You would be wise to put these three things on your priority. Maybe it's just me, however I feel that your faith should always be first in your life. There are so many names for God. When I speak of faith, I invite you to call on whatever name you call your Higher Power. … [Read more...]

Path to Enlightenment, ‘The story of a blind girl’

Path to Enlightenment, 'The story of a blind girl' There was a 'blind girl' who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her: “Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The … [Read more...]

SYMBOLIC MEANING OF STUPAS, Shirlee Hall

Dearest souls, I had a very lengthy and inspiring vision about 6 weeks ago. An actual conversation took place with an unseen intelligence. The Voice gave a name to what I was seeing, 'STUPA'. I didn't have a clue as to what it meant but knew somehow it was connected to India. It turns out Buddha's ashes were divided into 8 containers and each container had one of these structures, stupas, over the container. It is a sacred structure representing the chakra system and much, much … [Read more...]

Angels are ‘everywhere’ for some, ‘nowhere’ for others ?

We all experience our spiritual development in our own unique way. For some of us the changes occur slowly; for others a series of events can trigger sudden growth. We do not all share the same symptoms or changes. And certainly we hold our individual spiritual beliefs. We are as different as snowflakes, yet we share a common essence and general shape. Some of this information may resonate for you. Other concepts may not be comfortable for you. Each of us must examine new information and discern … [Read more...]

Do YOU Believe in Miracles?

Do YOU Believe in Miracles?      “Miracles happen to those who believe in them.”   The words of Bernard Berenson shows the controversies inherent in the issues regarding miracles and divinity in general, some believe in miracles, while others don’t – to them miracle is a 'figment of ones imagination'.   The salient question that begs for answer now is: Do you believe in miracles? What exactly is miracle? Has it any moral justification? Or is it … [Read more...]

INSPIRATIONAL PHOTO – There are many Paths TO the Same Garden.

There are many paths to God, choose the path that's right for you.       Proverbs - Today in Proverbs 20 verse 24 :  “A person's steps are directed by the LORD, 'How' then can anyone understand his own way?”   This is a powerful Proverb for us to consider. Do you believe that your steps are directed by God? I think so often we want to be in control of our own steps. And when we really try to take control of our own steps is when we so often stumble. . . It is so powerful for us to realize … [Read more...]
