IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation) is a Canadian registered charitable organization dedicated to empowering the disadvantaged people of the world. IDRF provides effective humanitarian aid and sustainable development programs, without discrimination, based on the Islamic principles of human dignity, self-reliance, and social justice.
In the past few years, IDRF Representatives in various cities across Canada have been providing tremendous assistance. They ensure that their communities are kept informed about IDRF efforts and are particularly helpful in distributing IDRF reports and literature. Their dedication and assistance has proven to be invaluable.
In an effort to build on this and to augment IDRF presence even further, IDRF has begun the process of creating Chapters in key cities across Canada. The Chapters will be managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, consisting of community leaders.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
DR. IZZELDIN ABUELAISH MD
Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish MD, MPH, is a Palestinian medical doctor who was born and raised in Jabalia Refugee Camp in the Gaza Strip.
He is a proponent of peace between Palestinian and Israelis and has dedicated his life to using health as a vehicle for peace.
Currently Dr. Abuelaish is an Associate Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. He is also a recipient of the Order of Ontario, a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee and an award winning author of the book titled “I Shall Not Hate”.

The Iftar 4 Gaza is an event that’s currently being hosted by the Palestinian community of the Greater Toronto Area in partnership with IDRF.

The goal of this event is to raise awareness and much needed funds to provide water and food to Gaza residents during Ramadan through the distribution of food kits that are prepared with fresh produce by local Gaza farmers and an additional Fitrah food and sweets kit that is given shortly before Eid.
Last year with the support of donors and sponsors we supported 20,000 individuals in Gaza during Ramadan. Funds will also support IDRF’s ongoing work around Water and Food security in countries such as Palestine, India, Pakistan and Guyana.
