Global Employment Trends for Women

GENEVA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch a report analyzing the gender gaps in global labor markets.

The report, entitled “Global Employment Trends for Women”, is for release on Tuesday, 11 December 2012.

The report, which has contributions from UN Women, includes regional and global figures. It also analyzes the different factors behind gender gaps in labor markets and presents a series of policy measures to address this issue.

For Geneva UN correspondents: A press briefing will be held on Tuesday 11 December at 11:30 Geneva time in Press Room III at the Palais des Nations.

Speakers will be:

  • José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, Executive Director of the ILO Employment Sector
  • Ms Michelle Bachelet, Executive Director of UN Women
  • Ambassador Jean-Jacques Elmiger, International Labour Affairs, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Swiss Confederation
