Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya are facing the worst drought in 60 years.

And with food costs skyrocketing, millions of people face malnutrition and the life-long disability that comes with it. You’ve probably seen the pictures on the news – of children with skin hanging from their bones. Without help, these children’s bodies will run out of energy and die.

 

Please, help us feed these children and their families. $50 is enough to provide one month of food rations for a family of 6. When you give before September 16th, every dollar you donate will be matched by the Canadian government to save lives in famine-affected areas.

Can you imagine what it must be like for children with a disability living through this nightmare?

Children who because of the poverty / disability mix, were already neglected – already undernourished and weak before the drought?

The UN estimates that a half million children are severely malnourished. Another 1.5 million are at risk. I know these numbers are overwhelming. And perhaps you wonder what your gift will do against such a massive need.

If all you can do is help one child, one family caring for someone with a disability… Or even if all you can do is pray faithfully for the people living in the Horn of Africa… then I believe God will use your offering to ease suffering.
