MARY MOORE – WOMEN of ACTION

A Celebration of Women is pleased to present to Our World, the humble and modest,  MARY MOORE.   Mary Moore is 30 years old, social entrepreneur. She is CEO & Founder of Eagle-Lion International Foundation and CEO & Founder of English with Mary Moore.  She doesn’t want more descriptions; she simply wants to be called a “Servant of the Most High God”.

The Eagle-Lion Foundation (ELIF) rallies global support with their philosophy:

“We, HUMANS are not victims of circumstances.
We rise above adversities and create our own destinies.
We are brave, we are strong; we never give up.
We strive, we move, we cling on to hope and faith.
In one mind and spirit we live for the good of all.”

ELIF’s  CONCEPTION:
ELIF was conceived in May 2009 during the intolerable devastation of economic recession and raging wars in the Middle East. Looking at the vastness and gravity of the global predicament from my office, I was reminded of the power of social capitalism where like-minded individuals can break all negative societal enslavement. I thought of connecting my friends from all over the world to form a coalition of accomplished, principled, modest, dedicated visionaries who share my goals for economic and peaceful reforms through non-violent means.
Using social media, the Eagle-Lion International Foundation was birthed in August 2009.   As ordinary citizens of the world, we in ELIF thought of sharing how we could alleviate one soul, even if we cannot help a thousand. Despite limited financial resources and busy schedules, we started to contribute to the world’s betterment. As the late Mother Theresa said, “We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”

ELIF’s   MISSION-VISION:
1. ELIF acts as an online social engineer, bridging/connecting like-minded people to promote peace, love and prosperity on a global scale. Since the internet shrank the world, connecting people on a global basis is easier than ever.
2. ELIF encourages grassroots training that instills life skills to the recipients of its ch arity works through cottage industry and backyard economic activities.
3. ELIF supports and advocates a NON-VIOLENT model for social change by reinforcing productive activities for youth and young adults. Further, ELIF will NEVER encourage violence either active or passive in its quest to propagating global PEACE.
4. ELIF encourages benevolence and social consciousness among businessmen through its Social Entrepreneurship Programs diffused through online forums and seminars.
5. ELIF underscores the values of resilience, creativity, innovation, benevolence and unity.

ELIF’s ADOPTED ORGANIZATIONS:
ELIF adopted four organizations whose prime movers have manifested great commitment and whose programs benefit humanity.
1. BURUNDI’s Rhythm for Revival: This group aims to preserve Burundi’s cultural heritage and educate the young on survival skills using music. They hope to procure more Burundian drums and provide additional hands-on musical training.
2. STICTHING-ANAK Holland, Philippines: This group offers scholarships to underprivileged, talented children in the Southern part of the Philippines. A formal school is already running and the founder, Louis Smolenaars is seeking additional funding to expand.
3. KidsHope, Philippines: This compassionate organization for neglected and abused children runs at least eight orphanages. It has built make-shift educational centers and is working on the resources needed to reach out to the thousands more street children. This organization will soon extend help to Cambodian children and Kid’s Hope Cambodia will be launched.
4. GAWAD KALINGA is the most organized of ELIF’s four groups. It spread globally, tapping Filipino-Americans to support the housing project for homeless Filipinos and help those who continue to live under trees and public bridges or on street sidewalks.

ONLINE AIDE OPTIONS:
1. An e-store called: ALOHA MOVEMENT for PEACE and PROSPERITY. The e-store will showcase products of members and affiliate institutions. ALOHA MOVEMENT is an offshoot of ELIF’s Social Entrepreneurship Forum (See above). The beneficiaries of the ALOHA e-store are the four adoptive projects and partnering organizations.
2. An educational program focusing on Survival English and Basic Business English. It will be launched through IPTV and spearheaded by Gawad Kalinga & English with Mary Moore.

UP-COMING PROJECTS:
1. Supported Calvary Missions/India with online education based on Individualized Instruction. Calvary Mission is spearheaded by Pastor Nehemiah Christie. At their head pastor’s request, I helped train the children in the basics of English language which they can hopefully use in their future endeavors.
2. Facilitated Haiti Rescue Operations through online information dissemination.
3. Developed online forum for social entrepreneurs and weekly Skype chats furthering ELIF’S mission to create business heroes and alleviate lives around the globe.
4. Pledged financial assistance to Kid’s Hope and will assist three other adopted organizations as financial resources allow.

 PEOPLE BEHIND ELIF

I am thankful to the directors of ELIF who believed in me and the ideals the organization. Without them my ideas would have not gained substance; it’s fitting to give the following leaders credit …
ANNA WANG is a Singaporean socialite and one her country’s finest businesswoman whose charitable work has helped thousands. She is our General Honorary Consultant and provides moral support, valuable advice and cherished assistance in any way she can. True, dedicated, successful, no air of self exaltation can be seen in her at all.
TOON KERSSEMAKERS from the Netherlands is a Professional Social Broker and C onsultant for Utrecht Foundation with a solid background on Social Networking. His numerous experiences in humanitarian work and deep sense of commitment have fueled the Gawad Kalinga program. He also represented his country in the APEC Summit last year. Despite his achievements, he remains humble and prefers to be called a “volunteer” rather than have a title attached to his name.
PASTOR MELLANNY STEMATELAKY from the Philippines is Founder of Kid’s Hope. She is Country Representative for Red Cross and Secretary General of Flaming Sword Ministries/USA. She manages nine orphanages located in the different provinces of the Philippine archipelago. She dislikes publicity but we watch and learn from her what service truly means.
